Illness wont go away...

sorry to bother... My char has the sickness smbol on the bottom right and makes a "painsound" every like 10 seconds... nothing else. I took 5 tetra and then 3 coles... it wont go away... does anyone got an idea what to do? Is it bugged?

Sounds like you used a bandage or rag that was dirty. You need to use alcohol or iodine to treat the wound (even though you are no longer bleeding) or wait until the infection spreads into the blood stream (around 20 mins) which then you can cure it with 4 tetra pills (not stacked).

weird thing is: i did not use any dirty bandage etc... I got it right after drinking from a water pump... but I thought this is save?

if you drink from a pump to much it makes you sick I guess the game wants you to go to tablets more than just drinking from a source.

did you drink from a bottle or your hands? bloody hands(no gloves) will give you an infection. you also have a chance of getting an infection drinking from (badly) damaged bottles.

drinking from a well is safe, unless modified by the server. never drink water from a bottle you pick up, dump it and replace with clean fresh water. also can get sick if hands are bloody. even if you have gloves on, if hands are dirty underneath you still get sick. then there is possibility of reinfecting yourself with tainted food or water.

btw, you are taking meds one at a time yes? you can stack different pills, like tetra and vitamins, but can not stack multiple of the same, so taking 2 tetra before the pill symbol goes away you are wasting the second pill. the longer you have a sickness the longer and more it takes to get rid of it.

best to slowly eat food and water. so like 3 small bites of food every 20-30secs or the same with small sips of water. too much at once and you vomit, but not enough you slowly starve or dehydrate. keeping a slow pace (walking or jogging) conserves more as well giving you a bit more time.

I find that sometimes sickness is a pain in the ass to get rid of. It will go away and come back if you don't stay dry, but I dunno if that effects wound infections.

I am on a official server and a took them one at a time... I just made a fire and try 7 more tetras.. hope it helps... maybe i just need alcohol but I cant find some...

Never take them at once. They do not stack. I agree with the guy that said dirty water. you made a mistake you did not catch. ALSO unknown food can will get you too if you do not eat it right.

SOMETIMES> RARE... you get a bug and there is no fixing it. I am not suggesting this happened here. You sound like a newer player and I know from exp. that newer players DIE A LOT.

If you insist on saving this char. Do a few things. If you still can. You will need an hour, food and water to last that hour. "LOTS of water" Small sips. Build a fire get the heat buff. Take a tect. Drink, eat. repeat. Get some sleep too. Every time the pill symbol goes take another pill.

Do not waste time on any other pills. Make sure you ALWAYS have clean hands. or wear gloves. There is NO excuse anymore not to have gloves on as they are easy as hell to make.

If you are close to the coast, I would get closer find an area you can find again but hidden and drop your stuff in backpack. and get yourself killed and go back for loot. Even better, bury it if you have a shovel or pick.

Yes that is cheap, and I think you should try to fix yourself as you need to learn this. I only offered that as an easy out.

If you have the means to fish, Then you have everything u need. You may even luck out and get a pot to boil water with.

I just ended it (F11) because I think its bugged... Will avoid any sickness next time! Thanks for the tips guys!
