how to further protect the 4 digit locked base

last 1 week my 3 bases were all raided.. all with 4 digit lock..
I assume its same person.. because they are all in same town area ....
based on my calculations bruteforce for 4 digit is around 5 -6 hours ( 3 hours if you are lucky..)
is there like a hack I do not know (on official server) people use to break bases or they do spend so much time bruteforcing a base?

The only sure way is to be there to defend it.
This is not practical for "normal" people who have family commitments
and jobs. Also the reason i played 90% of my hours in a team.
I remember those late night "panic" calls to mates to counter
raids... Ah, the good old dayZ

based on math it should be longer than 1 hour for 4 digit..

you have to go through all 10000 only in the worst case. If you start with right digits it will take about 1 hour. So I have guessed 2 locks in a row. It took me 2 hours. My first attempt.It is like addiction.
Check tips and tricks on Youtube or reddit. But the main key here is that it is a mind game :)

On modded servers I’ve seen 30 gates with code locks and players still break in lol

I've seen folks use some method where it takes 5min to get thru a 4codelock. Guy did it on my server earlier this year to prove it. Some posts about how to do it out there as well.

But that said, even an hour of code guessing I guess for some weirdo griefer at 3AM isn't unreaslistic, paticularly if they can see nice vehicles and storage in there. One of the main reasons I will only build a base for crap to store on PVE. Anything else, it's just feeling like a giant waste of time colelcting/managing items when some asshats jsut end up raiding and despawning everything.

Heck, if they guess the code, then the base is just theirs with a new code.

On PVP servers I find it easier to cut down a tree, bury a crate/drybag on the trunk spot. Unlikely anyone finds that. Also, some pretty glitchy/hard to locate spots on most maps as well. Crawling under crap with a crate works well, folks usually don't look under stuff, particularly static wrecks.

i found it storing under 2-3 bunched up Christmas trees works, i am storing 3 crates there now and its pretty hard to notice unless you go in there.. also multiple gates seems to be also discouraging...

I finally found a pair of pliers on my current solo run after like 7 IRL nights of playing. I was so excited to finally be able to build a gate and have a place to call home. Then I very quickly realized that……building a locked door (and this server requires a flag after x amount of days) is just a huge beacon for anyone looking to raid. I thought I was in a low-traveled area but any of the “cool” spots I scouted to call home were already based-in or raided and abandoned. My loot is most likely way safer scattered about in chests. Basically just need to access each one before the 14 day despawn timer is up.

It's not 5-6 hours.

Personnally, I cracked 4x those 4 digits in only 2 days.
It's just a matter of technic, patience & just a little bit of luck.
But technic, patience are the keys.
