Ok, Thanks. I had read that with the code lock you just have to enter it one time and never again, so I was wondering if it was the same for combination locks. That sucks you have to enter it in everytime because you're just standing there lmao
thanks a lot dude
here is the short video I made of me finally making my first base :D
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4XTUyQFnn5A&ab_channel=EviLLivEClan
Not too shabby, my first base was exactly the same...
It lasted over a month, those sheds are often overlooked.
this/last week I got two bases raided both with 4 digit lock.
Those little barns are always my go-to for the first base, I use them as a staging area for the next bigger base, and they are big enough to get a Canopy Tent, or (2) Medium Tents, OR a car, inside, and still have room for Barrels or Sea Chests.
- a few tips, if I may:
The only real problem I see, is the location. That is a pretty high-traffic area, so more likely to be noticed. In this location, it would make more sense to find a lock pick, and just lock the doors, rather than use good resources to build a gate. (this is just my opinion),
When you build your gate, move it a little to the left of center, so the post your Lock goes on is closer to the barn door .. makes it easier to get to the lock when you need to get in fast.
Another thing to keep in mind when choosing a location, besides player traffic, is how easy is it to get in to WITHOUT raiding .. Meaning, is there a stone wall, or other object that a player can jump up on, that allows them to just go over your fences. I saw one base built next to a Hospital, where you could get in the base (3) different ways, without needing to "raid" .. you could go to a second floor window and climb thu to fall in the base, you could jump up on a concrete wall, and jump down in to base, and they used a small yellow garage as an air-lock, but did not lock the doors or build gates in it.
C4 explosives are a Mod item, and configurable by the custom server.
As for time to "raid", that's not the important part of raiding Vanilla bases .. you need to have enough tools, or tools + repair kits (torch and gas, sharpening stones) because you will ruin a few axes or pickaxes or hatchets trying to "bust down" a fence or gate.
it is much simpler to try to guess the combination of the lock, where you might get lucky and get it the first try.
Metal Wall hitpoints = 21000
.. yes, it makes a difference, 5,000 hitpoint advantage to metal sheeting.
