Another consideration is that, in past years, a major focal point of the vanilla game was choices forced by limitations in carrying ability. It kept down portable hoarding (made much worse with vehicles (necessary, I grant you, but still an extra place to hoard), and forced players to make painful choices between weapons, food, insulation, protection, stamina and speed. As we see storage expanded, the tendency to keep items that may never be used, and which must be tracked by a server, increases.

I feel the game loses some of its native "wildness" every time something unnecessary is added to it. Particularly as it is added in place of fleshing out existing ideas or needs. The existing logical leather equipment tree, for example, has never been filled in, despite the fact that virtually all the components (hardwood bark, tallow, animal brains, and water... with some others (including acorns/acidic berries and sometimes dog excrement not really necessary) are already in game. All that you would need is a barrel or two and the ingredients (and time). After that, a leather sewing kit, and poof... leather gear. You wouldn't actually need fertilizer (which can be hard to find, depending on where you spawn/how many players are coming into the server).

What other things are already "in game," but under-realized or incomplete?

I really dont know why the devs even update ,modders are the true champs that have kept this game going the devs have put nothing but usless items in the game .

This is a diffrent game now :D

I have not encountered any gamebreaking bugs/ gamecrashes / unwarranted FPS drops / "ghost shots" / invisible zombies / HECK EVEN THE CAR RUBBERBANDING IS FIXED....

They did a fine job, if you ask me.

Concerning the patch....
They rebalanced almost all items when it comes to meele. Some people were upset, that a knife knocks you out faster than a pipewrench for example, and multiple other things.... THEY REBALANCED THAT.

They are reworking Bagpacks in the CLE in general.

They reworked loot in lower tiers.

They reworked how diffrent clothings affect your chance of starting to bleed.

They reworked the chance of bleeding in zombie vs player combat.

They added collision to Animals, so you can no longer hide on the body of them and kill unsuspecting people.

They fixed the launcher.....

Numerous other bugfixes....

Theres alot more than purses..... but sure.... lets not read the whole patchnotes and just start a rant about purses...

Totally agree with all that but... purses? Of all the things people ask for

Idk if you see the big picture with the purses here...
They are rebalancing the accessibility of bagpacks. Big bagpacks will be much rarer than they are now. They have added a whole new tier of bagpacks! I kind of like it. It always felt weird that you find backpags with 80 slots in cherno, while some military bagpacks only have 42 slot xD

Alot of things thats been asked for is actually in this patch! Things that range from reworking bleeds, all the way to AI improvements to Zombies, improved navmesh... They finally added a splashing sound when throwing things into the water... They fixed that bug, where you have to vault into certain building... They fixed the "wallkit Blocking".... They fixed the broken Carwrecks that could not be looted.... They fixed the Queue bug... they fixed the launcher... They reworked the "stunlocking"....

THEY EVEN FIXED THE GHOSTING BUG WITH THE LADDERS ON OFFICIALS!

But everyone is going berserk about the purses XD come on... give them a break... people act like they just added purses and thats the whole patch... Its obvious they havent read the patchnotes at all...

They watched the WOBO video, and think thats the only things that are coming with the patch.

i guess its the lack of animations for the "simple" bow and arrow. for sure that will take a lot of time and effort. at least they have its physics ready from the crossbow they can use.
and most likely the dev(s) doing the cosmetic items has no clue how to work with animations.
so yeah, instead of waiting a year for maybe a bow and arrow and just updates with bug fixes between... i take this purses, just alone for the cle improvement.

stop using facts and logic! people hate purses! its wokeness being shoved down my throat! why havnt the devs added that thing i specifically want!

Obviously this is low brow sarcasm but the above last couple of posts are quite correct that the patch isnt *just* purses but an entire rethink of an existing system. (plus all the other stuff the devs worked on)

it might not be *your* priority thing (or mine) but its what the devs want to/ are able to work on.

Every upddate released gets hate from someone not liking that particular *thing* whereas others really like or are simply indifferent to it.

If the devs just added a purse anf that was it, id also be scratching my head but folk love a culture war and purses fits right into that.

I think, and i may be wrong, that some users need to get a sense of perspective.
