DayZ 2
DayZ 2 is in development, according to court documents (Microsoft vs. FTC trial)
Do you think survival games need sequels? Would you rather see an upgrade to an already existing game versus a sequel coming out?

I'd be totally fine with them cutting support for DayZ and create a DayZ2 that isn't an abomination made with two engines.

Wouldn't even mind to pay full price for a sequel as long as it's good and adds a lot to the franchise.
For how much it costs to this day I'd rather see them do all of that on the same game, basically replacing with the updated engine.
Would be stupid from a financial standpoint.

I'd rather have them release DayZ2 and let the current DayZ die off than work on the broken DayZ we have and one day have to put in microtransactions because they only sold the game to everyone once.
True.

That would actually be wise from financial standpoint to upgrade the current game. The time it took them to gather all the playerbase and get those daily numbers. We have new generations coming every time, so I have no doubt DayZ 2 would have a really hard time catching up, good examples are other games as well. What’s with the sequels lol, they already upgraded the engine for this game in the past, they can do it again.

What's the point, it will just end up like this, full of cheaters and people who just kill you on the spot.

Perhaps a friendly fluffy 100 acre wood version, with friendly piglets and donekeys. You could go all-a-bunny hopin' along the desolate apocalypse together, and oh no of course no killing! Just tea-times and belly rubs. Will kill those nasty zombies with hugs dammit!

Hmm. Somehow I could see that.

I mean, if they are already developing a new Arma, they could just use that engine, and use all the work the modders developed to sell clothing/weapon skins as microtransactions or DLC. That wouldn't supprise me. They wouldn't even have to do any major work, the modders done did it already, and thechnically anything the mods have done is their property technically.

Codelocks now $4.99! Get it now in the DayZ 2 store! Crap, they could have servers with the Trader built right into the microtransactions. OMG this is horrifying...

Have you ever led a company?

Catch up? Huh? They would just abandon DayZSA to mods and dev 2 only. Every current and past player would buy it I'm sure. I would.
Updating SA would bring in 0 cash. A new version would earn new revenue.

Unless they sort the cheating, and hackers it is pointless releasing DZ2, it'll just be a new patch for the said cheaters and hackers.

I guess no one should ever release anything then, as all games have hackers at some point, even huge AAA titles.

The Devs just need to do a better job with anti-cheat across the board in the entire online gaming platform. Steam as well should be banning/locking entire Steam accounts for ANY cheat detected in ANY game platform.

Rather then blanket statement no new release of DayZ 2, perhaps some discussion on what could make the anti-cheat better would be more productive.
have over 2k hours and never seen a cheater in dayz lol
