Do Appletrees actually spawn apples?
Hey guys,
started playing a couple a days ago again, after a break over 3 years or so.
And i can remember appletrees spawning trees but the hell couldnt find a single one after searching at least 200 trees :D

Was not able to find a thread saying they dont. Even iZurvive and the DayZ Wiki say they sould :good_shot:

What´s going on?? haha

Yup they do. Helps to pick up the rotten ones and throw them away so fresh ones can spawn. Tip, I use the rotten ones to distract zombies or practice grenade throwing. They don't kill you when you miss....lol.

i was wondering the same thing, then it happened, all at once all the apple trees spawned apples, apples for dayz, it seems they spawn all at once, with a long, long cooldown,

They begin to spawn when the tree is within the players 100m radius (invisible circle around your character) but can also take up to 15 mins to spawn.

Avoid BIG Orchards as there are too many to check and seem to spawn less. Find a group of around 6 and just loop between them while disposing of the rotten ones as mentioned earlier.

This also works for mushrooms in forests, if you find a group of dead fallen trees.. again loop between them.

If you find a bunch of apples or mushrooms on arrival, then somebody is already there nearby or just left.

When hungry I eat the rotten fruit in small bites so I don't get sick.
