Zombie Combat is Messed Up Now

I used to love playing Dayz with my boyfriend. Today we quit. There is no rhyme or reason to the zombie combat anymore. Something changed and not for the better. You can aim for them, when you should have hit them, nothing happens, and when your melee weapon just swooshes in the air they drop. Sometimes when they hit you the camera changes to the top of your head and the zombies are able to push you back like three feet in the middle of a swing. I am going through duct tape and repair kits like crazy and I never used to because I had the aim and timing down. Now, I can't beat a skank, crack ho zombie without taking damage. We are done, until they fix this issue.

sounds more like a server/network issue. nothing was changed in combat with infected for a long long time.

You simply need to learn how to time your blocking properly and killing zeds with little damage to yourself is easily obtained. Zeds will not be able to damage you when you are blocking.

Wait for the zombie to run at you and press and hold the "S" key. You will be blocking and backing up at the same time. The zombie will make its attack by making 2 swings at you and after that the zed rests for a few second allowing you to make your attack. Then put up the block again and repeat. Usually the Zed goes down in 2 or three hits with a weapon. Sledge hammer is the best in my opinion.
Also you can sneak up behind a Zed with a knife in your hand and if the zed does not know you are there you can stealth kill it.

yeah I never have problems with zombies I got attack by like 7 zombies and no problem killed them all didn't get hit. Sledgehammer haha

sounds like a skill issue or some kind of system/connection thats all

there is no need to publicly rage quit for attention like this

What are your system specs and settings and are you using wifi

I don´t see why you being bad at melee combat is a reason for your boyfried to quit you. OH well, but then if my girlfriend was calling someone a skank crack ho, I´d quit also.

I just avoid the zombies at all costs lol, if I don't have to shoot them I don't

I jumped onto official severs over the last week for my own reasons and Z's are still as easy to kill.

Sounds like a maybe a connection problem. I'm not aware of any such changes.

I used to stealth kill infected. But then I realized it's a lot faster and easier to just sprint from loot spot to loot spot while cheesing the A.I. on doors.
