Like vehicles. They are set to '3' but we all know cars last far longer than 3 seconds.
https://github.com/niboj/DayzXboxConfigTutorial#events-configurations
The types.xml file lifetime for vehicles are for vehicles that weren't spawned in for events.
Vehicles that were spawned in from events last till the vehicle is ruined
Programming 101 means explaining code. Endless variables with no explanations - somebody never took 101. It has nothing to do with making assumptions about the intelligence of who reads the code, and everything to do with pure laziness.
Hint: In the Vanilla game, there are no vehicles spawned, that are not from Events.
Actually the information is correct.
You are the one who is wrong, here we are NOT talking only about public vanilla servers (which would be the correct explanation anyway), but about the general configuration of the "events.xml" file, valid for ALL servers.
And in fact, the duration of the vehicles generated by events is "eternal" until their destruction, and does NOT depend on the "types.xml" file. The "types.xml" file, with its "lifetime" of the vehicles determines the life they will have if generated by an admin with his tool in the community servers.
Those also exist and they use the same configuration files, do you know that?!?
You accuse others of giving wrong information, but you are the one giving it wrong...
I've already read it other times.
Now I'll wait to see how you will climb on this mirror...
Congratulations. you also necro'd a thread with no activity in nearly another year (now 2 years old) to "pwn" me ..
Who is this "we" you speak of, because YOU were never a part of the original discussion, and have no way to know that the discussion was NOT about Vanilla servers .. Which I specifically DID say, "In the Vanilla game, there are no vehicles spawned, that are not from Events." .. which is where XMC_Cross posted "wrong information".
On vanilla (AKA Official) servers, there are no Traders, no Admin tools, no airdrops, only "Events", and there is no documentation that supports XMC_Cross' assertion that the Developers implemented a lifetime for vehicles in the Types.xml for the purpose of supporting modded servers.
The Lifetime in types.xml does affect player spawned vehicles (Tools or Trader), and the normal lifetime for "Event spawned" vehicles is "eternal" .. YOU applied my comment to both of xmc_cross's 2 sentences, rather than just the FIRST sentence, which I noted in my comment with "In the Vanilla game, there are no vehicles spawned, that are not from Events." .. Excuse me, for quoting their entire post, instead of selectively editing the quote, and deleting their 2nd sentence.
Now, in context, where was my comment wrong? Are there vehicles spawned on Vanilla servers that are NOT from Events? Are there Traders or Admin tools on Vanilla servers?
