"Your Wounds are Infected!"
I used a leather sewing kit on my wounds not knowing what it did, and I ended up getting infected by it. I looked up some guides on how to cure wound infection, but the methods I was shown didn't work. I tried putting alcohol tincture on a rag and using the rag, but it didn't work. I kind of figured that. Am I missing something? All the wiki's and videos say I can use rags with alcohol tincture to cure wound infection.

Does that mean I can't use alcohol tincture with rags to fix the problem? That's pretty much all I have. I don't think I'll find something as rare as antibiotics in time.

YOu should be able to right click on the alchohal tincture and disinfect wounds unless that changed.

You shouldn't die immediately but start hitting medical buildings.

alcohol

you should clean your wounds before you stitch them in the future.

Put the alcohol in your hands first, and then try right clicking to see if you get the option. But, I think it is too late at this point. It will clean it, but it won't get rid of an infection you already have.

You might want to find some antibiotics if they are already infected. My understanding is they are the only cure for an active infection. I don't know if you have to take a cycle of them (as in real life) or if just one pill will cure you, though.

EDIT: Search medical facilities. Your best bet to find some antibiotics. You might want to grab some saline and find a friend to administer it to you as well. You are losing blood as long as you have the infection.

You need your character to be fully hydrated and engerized throughout the stages of sickness to reach the recovery stage. Then the antibiotics or cleaning your wounds with alcohol tincture should be affective..

Maybe that is why you haven't seen a change?

You can fill water into the alcohol bottles, all alcohol bottles in my barell contain water,
cause PET Bottles are rare at the moment.

not sure if the disease mechanics are in depth but possibly was infected due to not using a sterilized needle? no clue if you can prepare a needle for stitches

Had a PET bottle my last run. Thanks for letting me know. I most likely wouldn't have tried that.

Yeah last I had heard every time you use a leather sewing kit to stitch wounds it comes with a chance of infection.

Not sure if the mechanic had changed or advanced since there, it would be safe to assume that applying alcohol to both the needle and your wound it would at least reduce the chances significantly, though I don't think we can "clean" the needle as of yet.

Pretty sure I heard that it was a 17.5% chance for infection each time you use the sewing kit. By the way, small update, I believe I'm on the fourth stage of infection. Now I just wait.

That number seems way to specific and low to be right, where did you hear that?

The explosive diarrhea stage?

I believe a youtube video I watched earlier today showed that percentage. The youtuber said it was from one of the Standalone wiki's. As for fourth stage, the sit and wait stage. Nothing happens on fourth I believe.

If you drop dead then it was either the infection or you stumbled on a rock. ; )

(If you're at the fourth stage, then you should be on the mend, just keep hydrated and engerized)
