Can we not have stats?

Or at least not any stats that other people can look up. It kind of takes away from the game for me. If I am with a guy who could easily kill me, I should decide to trust him by the way he acts or talks. If I can just look up his stats and see that he has like abigilion kills then I can just run away or kill him. It doesn't make sense to me.

I don't see a particular point to a stat sheet either, but I don't think they will be made available to other players (unless you are posting pics of it), I think it is literally just for personal bragging rights, even though the score would barely even be an accurate representation of real events.

Like I sit on the coast shooting my buddy as he loads in repeatedly to boost my score so I can post pics on steam saying "I am pro, look at my k/d ratio noobs".

Because if the game was missing anything.... It certainly wasn't that. I don't know what they were thinking really.

But that's not really fair, it's also on you if you choose to exploit 3rd person camera for combat advantages, but if you DON'T do it, you are at an automatic and huge disadvantage to those who do, and considering it is considered acceptable play, you would have noone to blame but yourself for not taking advantage.

True, but again, it's up to you to look. I understand your position but your stats isn't the same as the 3pp exploit. It doesn't have an inherent advantage or disadvantage knowing.

What if I am a bandit and I dont want other people to be able to geuss that just because they saw my kd ratio or something.

Well fair point but that is arguable, I don't see the devs adding the ability for other players to look at your stats though, that would be weird in dayz. Have they announced that we will? Or are the OPs concerns based off assumptions?

I believe a concern. I believe it's to be for your own personal consumption though.

Yea I just assued that they were because when I log in there is a thing next to my charicter that says "no stats connected".

I doubt we will be able to just look up another players stats man. I would be shocked if that were the case, but then again the whole idea of a stats system shocked me a little so, who knows.

Then play only on first person servers...

They should have a journal that your character can choose whether or not to share with other players. It would have a record of your kills, illness survived and time alive. The only way to look at it would be to share it or have it pulled from your cold dead hands.
