how to find North and South?

where there is sun light a read that the clouds move from the west to the east, is this true? also i had a shotgun and plenty of amo i loaded the shotgun and it shot twice but after that i could not get it to load, is this a glitch or was i doing something wrong

Stick to roads at start, look for place names, get dayz map and keep eye out for compass.

The sun typically is in the south, it sets east to west but is towards the southern horizon. Clouds used to go west to east but I don't think they do in the SA. You can romp around Chernarus for 2 plus years and get to know every inch of it. Ahh, I miss Lingor.

I just find a road and head down it till I find a name.
If you know where you are, using a map will let you know where north is.
The sun rises in the east and sets in the west in real life.
I have noticed it being off in dayz at times.
Also look for landmarks as well.

Look at what time the server is when you join. The sun is in the East in the early morning, moves to SE, then S for noon, then back to SW then to W late afternoon/early evening.

the easiest way to figure cardinal directions is to look at the horizon. the east coast is sea level (mostly) so when you spawn if you orientate yourself toward the lowest horizon you will be headed east or south east. thats what i always do and its worked well so far

Nobody answered one of his questions which was one I had as well - The double barrel shotgun has to be manually loaded and once you've used the two shells the reload command does not work.

Is this a glitch or working as intended?

You have to open your inventory, and put the next two rounds in the rifle manually. That, except if you have a snap-loader in your inventory. Then you just have to hit "F" key to reload.

i had a double barrel shotgun i had no loader i loaded the shotgun once and when i fire the two frounds i was not able to reload no matter what i tryed, no one sems to knnow the answer to this so im calling it a glitch
