What? AKM is more powerfull than AK101 dude, AK101 uses 5.56 and AKM uses 7.62x39, so AKM uses more powerfull ammo lol

haha people thinking a weapon did more damage just because of the calliber, some people actually TESTED it and didnt just say it was like that and 5,56 DOES more damage, what would be realistic in real life too, because the 5,56 tumbles in the body and destroys more tissue, while the 7,62 just bashes through the body.

Here are actual facts:
AK101 and AKM have ALMOST identical damage outputs. The AK101 does slightly more damage, but its very minute.
AK101 and AKM have identical recoil patterns, but the AK101 is more controllable
AK101 and AKM both have the same spawns and rarity, however, the AKM has access to the 75 round drum mag and more common ammo. Thus it wins in the availability area.
AKM and AK101 have almost identical accuracy. The only difference is with the plastic buttstock which actually increases accuracy, as does the PSO scope. However, since this can be attached to the AKM, the AK101 doesn't win this.

"Technically" the AK101 wins as it does more damage and is more accurate, but in the long run its really down to preference and users skill in combat with their preffered weapon. There is no "clear winner"

Also, isn't the AK101 in some wierd russian style .223 ammo (5.56)? 5.45 or something. Is this not the case in the game? I seem to recall several AK 47 and ak74 variants being in 5.56, so maybe that is what is going on.

The AK101 is a modernised version of the AK47 I believe. Thats why some parts are plastic. Its designed to use the standard NATO rounds and is generally lighter and more mobile then the AKM

Just for the people talking about the IRL part of the AK101, and AKM differences, here they come.

NOT TALKING ABOUT THE GAME AT THIS PART

AKM uses 7.62x39mm caliber rifle cartridges. on wartime, example russians, use the explosive tip ammo 7.62.39, hence rendering AKM capable of bigger hole AND exploding bullet into the tissue. (ive shot this caliber rifle called RK-62 SAKO assault rifle, multiple times, and it really has hellova load of bullet damage, even without the explosive tips.)

AK101 (in the game, it has been modded to the bigger 5.56 caliber nato round) Which has lower velocity, lower bullet speed, clinges in a tiny hole into the body of a human, and it doesnt regularly have explosive tip rounds (Due to the 5.56 being so small round, it would suffer for more heavier tip, making the bullet even less velocity, making it go much more slower.

Just an addition to my text, I would love if RK62 or RK95 would be in the game. both have far superior and what everyone would like, an unique iron sight in it. also, its more accurate than both of those rifles i mentioned above.

5.56 does more internal damage than the 7.62 the AK uses, the 7.62 will take a bigger piece of meat out of your body, you're right with that

by the way, AK-101 is better in my opinion, less recoil therefore the chance to aim at the target faster -- results in faster accurate rate of fire...
