i haven't played it in 4-5 months, and im simply too afraid to play it, got good stuff, but no ammo, and every time i look at it in my library, i get reminded of my previous deaths, so the question is: how can i overcome this fear of dayz? D:

start to enjoy gearing up .. you will die and face it if you have no ammo then its useless any way may aswell not have it... but yeah get ust to re-gearing and learn to enjoy that iv stopped going to air bases because of this and am not content just using a mosin or sks

play with some buddies? or keep in mind that at this point in the game if your not running around trying to survive well your not really playing. Dying means nothing, takes about 15-20 mins to get full geared again. Dont be afraid to play. The only thing worse than dying, is not playing... Cause thats just a waste. Add me as a friend if you want someone to travel with. Always looking for people to play with that arent homicidal maniacs.

If your really that chicken just go on some low pop servers until you feel more comfortable in your skin. It'd probably be alot safer anyway at least until you get ammo. Also I find the southern portion of the map less populated these days.

Its kind of fun running around with no gear in hot spots, yelling stupid crap over your mic, and scaring the living **** out of other players. Try not to become attached to your gear, or you will not have a good time.

dont be afarid to lose your gear, dont get atatched, just rememeber it doesnt take that long to get it all back again, quick vists to military places and a few server hops and you will have what you need to survive.

the only way you will improve your game style and experience is to play and face your fears, go looking for people and get involved in a couple of gun battles you will soon learn new ways to survive and get better.
you will actually enjoy it the tension will get your blood going.
just have fun out there man.
rememeber dont take it too serous just enjoy it.
im sure you will get frustrated and annoyed we all do.
Has soon has you realise your gear isnt forever and accept the fact you will lose it somehow you wont care if you lose it has give yourself a hour and guess what your geared again

oh yer the persistant items will be in soon so find a tent o and find a good camping spot and go and store some gear, that way when you die aslong has no one else finds it you can go and get the gear you stored

Wait for tents and persistent storage, then strip naked, store your stuff and go get new gear.

Once you have some spares, you will be able to relax a bit perhaps?

I was exactly the same when I first started playing :D Because to be good at combat you need to fight in combat; and you get better as you fight other players and it can be rare getting into good firefight.

If you want to get better a fighting other players, definatly head to berezino its a very risky location but you can get into some amazing fights over there. BTW I go around the outskirts of berezino its very dangerous if you dont have an automatic weapon..

Also you will need to play as if it ISNT a game if you want to SURVIVE. What I do is always think if I was in the situation in real life what would I do and this helps loads!

-Detach yourself from your gear, its onlys 2 hours ish when you server hop.
-Play with friends
-KOS all people, get you use to tense combat situations.
-Stalk people, practice, practice.
-LOwer your sounds! I use to have sounds on high thinking it'll give me an edge hearing people, all it did was give me a heart attack everytime a zombie suprised me from a corner/ gun shots.
