Random Zombie sounds?

I was lying above Balota and scouting the airfield with my Mosin Nagat .
I had to fight 3 Zombies who tracked me up the hil from that little village behind Balota, no problem till here, but when i was lying there for like 5 minutes doing nothing, is suddenly heard a male zombie shout. It were short shouts and they sounded like a agressive zombie ( you know those short screams), i instantly stood up took my axe and left the tree i lay in and waited for him to appear. I even punched a tree with my axe to make noise to get him tracking me, but he didnt show up. 20 Second later i just lay down again in an other tree and after a short duration of time (3/4 minute or something) the same male sounds appeared. I know explore my enviroment closer but i didnt find anybody or anything and it was like 300 metres above and away any civilisation.
Is this a bug or should i be worried, that a zombie tracked somebody near me? Is there like random zombie noises so players get scared like in the mod, where in the music screams appeared?

From memory it's a audio bug, I've had it happen a few times I had to relog to shake it off

Thats the most useless content in the game.
Why would you want to hear zombie sounds near you?
I mean that could'nt even scare somebody who has an ax.
It's just annoying...

Zombie sounds comes out randomly from rabbits too. Its a little bit funny but its true

Yes, I was looting on the third floor of some building and heard aggressive shout from behind my back. Hell of a screamer. I walked out, looked around and found no zombies. Kinda bug obviously. But frightening as hell.

happens to me a lot and the one time I don't look for the zombie there really is a zed and he comes and ruins half my stuff

@Samurai it is not a link to a feature to upvote but rather a bug

But now I understand why it is on low priority on the ticket tracker side, they said on reddit they don't know how to fix this actually and probably requires a more heavy rework of the sound system. Beware if you play with a headset on high volume, sometimes you may hear gas explosion that's brutal

As far I know the more players there is on the server, the more the bug occurs, if you play alone, you will most likely never hear them

Yeah on 40/40 server this is the random noise fests huhu

Probably behaves just like the other partial sounds you hear. Splitting, eating, drinking etc. All of those are caused by other players so it would make sense for zombie aggro sounds to do the same.

Yeah hehe every 12 seconds you hear a can open or half a zombie shout, keeps you on your toes I guess.

I would also hazard a guess that server owners are behind some of the weird audio issues, I have had several instances of logging into a server and hearing noises or voices as I was spawning in, but when I arrived, there was nothing at all even close to me.

I've noticed that theres a bit of difference between the randoms and actual zeds. Randoms seem to get cut off, and you dont hear that kind of grunting noise the zeds make when they run at you.
