Central loot economy
so what is this? so far the ONLY place i find loot is on nwaf. and the map for this new looting system seems to confirm just that.
whos great idea was that?

no. ive spent the past 6 hours searching. on 4 different servers.

Wierd. Granted havent been playing for a while(a few weeks) but am pretty sure the CLE is the same as the day 0.60 hit stable. Are you looking inside clothing, stuff like that?

Basically specific locations & buildings across the map will have a higher percentage of spawning certain items, gear, weapons in these regions, but not a guarntee of spawning these items etc. Just a higher chance depending on which location you go in search of certain items, gear and weapons. But with the CLE not attached to server restarts then the percentage is greatly decreased, add in the lifespan factor along with the clean up and you've got a forever changing loot environment with over "2 million spawn-points across the map". Again limiting what you might find in certain locations at any given time..

But remember just because you're in a certain region doesn't guarantee finding such loot in the barracks/house/shed, which was easily predictable within the old loot system. More spawn points means that shed across the way or just on the outskirts in a building there may be loot?

All this is just my personal take on the CLE from the information available in relation to the loot table and categorization of items.

Regions - Green: “normal” areas - Blue: urban areas - Red: military areas

Coastal locations - Netting, wellies, fishing hooks etc

Industrial Locations - All tools, hard hats, and when implemented parts for vehicles etc.

Militarty Locations - Weapons (rare), gear, etc.

Urban Locations - Clothing, odd chance of canned food (rare), backpacks, civilian weapons etc.

Rural Locations - Clothing, odd chance of canned food (rare), farming tools, civilian weapons etc.

Dynamic Events - Tier weapons, gear and certain rare items etc. (Also another large part of the project still a wip as they've been working on changing it from the old legacy system which will be tied into the CLE.)


1. When i take an item it spawns somewhere else on the map (at random)

With the lifespan and server cleanup, it would seem that the quantity control (nominal/minimal/maximum values) is designed to constantly spawn in loot throughout the map, once it's at/under the nominal-minimal and each region is configured differently (still wip, with 3 million spawn-points) . Now once you take something from its spawn point will this spawn something new instantly somewhere else. Thats where the respawn tick and cleanup come in and from what Eugen has stated checks happen every 5 seconds. Bascially the server startup is set to the nominal value so items spawn in the world and then once at the nominal-minimal cleanup checks keep track of the usage of items and spawn points within the loot table categorization, wich all loot is allocated.

2. The nominal/minimal/maximum values play a huge factor within the CLE loot distribution and again the fact there are "3 million spawn-points" etc.

If a location is constantly looted (Military & Police stations or main routes) then loot is spawning elsewhere once the loot category (military, industrail, residential) hasn't reached the maximum value items will spawn. If the maximum value is reached then nothing will spawn until other items fall back into the cleanup (lifespan and cleanup checks etc). Farming one locations/building becomes a lot harder depending on the nominal/minimal/maximum values across the servers loot table categories. Note the dev's have stated the loot tables and values will be tweaked and ajusted over the development cycle.

Keep looking. Read the post above or watch the video. And food is literally all over the place, several chickens can be found per town. You hear the stupid, incessant clucking of chickens every thirty metres. Apple trees are frigging everywhere. Apples hydrate you as well.

use the apple tree glitch. its what im having to do.
And when that is worked over so apple trees have limited food, you can eat chickens or other animals. Chickens are everywhere. Then there's fishing, farming etc.

You'll see people saying all you need to survive in DayZ is rope. It's true. Rope gives you a weapon (bow - rope+stick), food (fishing rod - rope+stick) and a backpack if combined with animal hides. Sticks added to that bag increase its inventory. Chicken feathers (gathered from chicken coops or dead chickens) combhined with sticks give you arrows, bones from the chickens make the arrows better and to craft an improvised bone hook for your fishing rod.

Find a stone by looking at the ground with empty hands, right click and turn into a knife. Use it to carve up bodies such as chickens for meat and cut bark and sticks off a tree to make a hand drill to start a fire and cook the meat. The stone knife can also open any cans of food you find, and prepare fish. It also can be used to find worms in the ground to add to your fishing rod.
See how stupidly easy it is?

Dont forget to look inside clothing the amount of canned goods i have food inside various clothing items almost surpasses the amount found at random in buildings.

OP basicly the CLE is a WIP, if you cant find loot your doing it wrong, no offence, i can spawn and within 30 mins have decent clothes and weapon with ammo in 2 hours be full kitted military grade with weapon, ammo and scope and thats on a fully pop server private hive.

Maybe try a private hive? something where the "hoppers" are not taking military grade?

all in all, it appears your not playing the game correctly, as for food, all you need is a cutting tool such as a knife of even stone knife to kill an animal, get wood, tear t shirt and cook food! with 3 apples and a chicken you can run to ANYWHERE on the map and get to the places you need to be at.
