Make a campfire and get a long wodden stick. Put the meat on the stick and hold it over the fire.
I think it gives you an option if you look at the fire and scroll, not sure tho since i didnt cook for some time.

you need a camp fire and a stick where you put the meat on the stick or you need a gas can and a pot or frying pan (im not sure about frying pan)
i've also put the meat in a pot and put it in the fire put it seems to just damage the pot without even cooking the chicken

Burning the meat gets you sick, cook until its brownish in color

I use a stove top, gas canister, and a cooking pot or frying pan. Fastest way.

OP, I'll clear this all up for you

#1 NEVER put anything in the ten or so boxes in the fireplace directly. All that does is burn the item. Literally just like placing it directly into the red coals at the bottom of the fire. You cannot do anything useful this way.

#2 You need a cooking tool. A cookpot over a fire requires a cooking tripod attached to the fire. Then you place the pot on the tripod and it'll heat up. Check the pot often to make sure its not burning. Overcooked meat is going to make you sick like uncooked. No pot? Use a branch cut from a tree. Attach the meat to it and pose it over the fire (theres an option when you look at the fire). As far as I know, there is no way to cook over a fireplace with the frying pan.

#3 Don't take your eyes off the meat. It'll change texture after a little bit, TAKE IT OFF the first time it changes, that means its done. More and its burned. The frying pan and cookpot can both be used with a portable stove, you need to take the pot/pan off the stove to check.

This guy knows what he is talking about. I do nothing but cook. It'll turn a goldish brown color when it is finished. Take it off the stick when that happens.
