WHERE are NVG's?

I've been trying to look into where NVG's spawn in current vanilla DayZ, but I can't seem to find a definitive answer. Every source says something different. Is there any way for me to find this out without taking the word of random people on Reddit who are giving 3 different answers in 1 thread?

to have the right answer, look at the official server files for chernarus and livonia.
they are listed as "deloot" and "military", which means they only spawn at heli crashsites.
on livonia they also spawn on the tactical helmet in the underground bunker.
maximum of 5 on the map, they dont count in hoarders, but on players that are on the server.

How about the new Military Convoy events? I have found an LAR at one of these which was previously a Heli site only item, so maybe NVGs spawn there too.

How about the new Military Convoy events? I have found an LAR at one of these which was previously a Heli site only item, so maybe NVGs spawn there too.

If it has the DE loot tag, it's in all 'dynamic events'; that includes the convoys.

There's so many dynamic events now, you can get ridiculously geared up in one hour...

a bit harder to tell from the mission files, but they added military wrecks to the mapgroupproto recently that spawn military equipment now. so yea, i guess the convoys act the same as a helicrashsite.

NVGs and other military shouldn’t spawn at the police events though right? Don’t they need DE AND Miltary tags? Those would be DE and Police, no?

On Livonia you can find then on Helicopter crashes and at level 3 of the bunker. Level 3 of the bunker is a certainty for 2 sets attached to the helmets every time but you need at least 1 other person to aid you get there.

So the files themselves say only heli crashes? Interesting. I was looking around today and found a website by the dayz youtube channel WOBO and it actually shows an in depth analysis of every piece of loot and where it spawns, and on the website it says that NVG's are just a tier 3/4 military loot item. I'm assuming they get their information from the same files but I'm no expert on it so honestly not sure. Still leaves me confused lol.

the website also says that it's only heli crashes / convoys as well. So there's the definitive answer.

Is it true that if there are few players on the server, CRASHSITE doesn't appear? Will the cars also not appear if there is only one player on the server?

Not true. Events happen whether players are logged in or not.
