DayZ frame drops / stutter
Hi guys!
Reinstalling the game after 2 years and can´t seem to have steady fps. When running on forward on a straight line I get around 140 fps but any change in direction or looking around makes it drop to around 40 fps. The game is installed on my SSD which is where my OS (Windows 10 is).

I'll leave my basic specs here and please feel free to ask anything else. Would really appreciate if someone could give me some advice.

i7 4790k
GTX 1080ti
18GB RAM

Thanks in advance,

Tiangor

Got same issues man,my pc is good enough to easily run it on ultras, but stutters are there, they're small, but they are there. The only thing that seemed to lower stutters at least slightly is changing priority to High in Task Manager, altough maybe it's just my imagination.

A couple weeks ago i had a huge fps drop then a hacker was spam building walls around me trying to troll on official server. I just logged in and my character got bugged couldnt eat my cooked fat. relog and still character got bugged instantly and the frames went to ♥♥♥♥ so i just logged off to be safe incase its another hacker. I also notice this weekend with the FTP, there was a lot of fishiness.

I AM THE SENATE yeah my specs should also be more than enough. In the meantime a buddy recommended this guide: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VnmZU7C4zAM
Will be following it and hopping for the best.
Will keep you all posted.

Didn't change much. 140fps as long as I don't look around. Any mouse movement makes it drop to 30 /40. Impossible to play. Unistalling again :( I guess it's back to Mist and PUBG til they fix performance here. On the positive side it has only been 6 years since I got the game. Ohh wait...

editing your files will help on your end but server ping and lag you have no control over

I have exactly same setup

I depends on the server, but I don't get less then 70 fps
This game is not 100% optimized but you should be fine. On deathmatch servers I can have sometimes 50 fps due to a lot of loot and players on one spot.
Try to use that youtube guide

I did but it really didn't help tbh. As for servers I have checked loads of them always trying to have low ping ones.
I know the game is not optimized dfbffh54ggn. It never was. But somehow I never thought it would still be like this.

I think as was said,it also comes down to the server.Maybe on modded servers lag is worse but i dunno.

I had the same problem, I tried to use the game controller, and found that the problem was solved, but I am not used to using the game controller, who knows how to solve the problem of the mouse moving the card?

Something must be wrong with your installation or GPU. My machine is weaker than yours but never goes below 50 fps, playing on 1440p res with everything on ultra. Have you tried verifying game files on steam, including ticking the boxes?

18 GB of RAM sounds a bit unconventional, if you have different sized modules that can cause issues on some machines.

The game is actually really well optimised now, got a friend running it on a potato yet he pulls decent fps on 1080p.

It's 16GB lol. Mistyped it.

I have no reasons to think that my GPU has any problems. Ran some tests and all seems fine. And I have no issues with other games.

I have tried several official servers but keep getting the same results.

Reinstalling the game to see if anything changes...

Make sure you dont have any RAM intensive programs running on the background

Is you OS drive almost full? I have had it with another game which was slowed down because there were not enough room to swap.

Hope you find a fix soon! Greetings!

Hey just found this not sure if it will help but worth a try https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UeESAVfkdH0

I really appreciate all of you trying to help but unfortunately the issue persists. I have no crash files like the ones in that video, nothing really too memory intensive running in the back and the drive still has about 60GB free which should be enough.

Can't find any fixes online, so if anyone had this issue (pretty decent FPS doing anything else but looking around. Even running, on a straight line, I get around 140 until I move the mouse and it will then drop to around 20) or knows about a fix for it I would be very thankful.
