I also can edit the loot spawn, make it appear more, or less, what ever i decide.
I can make it as easy as i want, or as hard as i want, but atleast it will not have any bandit players that just shoot new players for the heck of it.
I stopped a long time with dayz, because of the bandits, now im back and im having a ton of fun playing dayz on my own

Bottomline is: I'd like to play Single Player, and it seems running a private server is the way to go.
Advanced Thanx for any / all help!!!
This should get you started:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dlxLYy_vsDg
It explains visually how to start your own server, but you also require a custom bat file for mods etc, you can find it easily on youtube. Thats how i got it done.
You can run it on your own PC if it's decent hardware. This is the only guide I used and it worked great.
Simple as hell, just like any other mod....
Much thanks to you all!!!
This worked like a charm!!!

Next step for me is replacing the Z´s with wolves and bears, makes it more realistic and a bit harder. The server is always a WIP, too make it more survival and less only killing Z´s or eventually other players xD
Thanks
ive been playing with the DayZ.Community.OfflineMode.zip - and it works really really well...
it doesnt need the dayz server (on steam), but i cant seem to save any progress when i exit the game :)
its fun for a few hours here and there, but maybe i do need the dayz server?
when i run steam, and launch the dayz server to run my own local one, it looks like it tries to connect to batle eye (which it shouldnt really since i just want to play offline, but even so, i cant seem to get it to accept the MoreFood mod..
i have added the types/spawnables into the xml, and when i have run the offlinemode.zip mod, i see the more food mod info + livonia (only livonia has a green square icon next to it).
(basically i would like to be able to add some mods, and launch the game with mods but without using any launchers.. (because they crash) :)
so far i try to launch with this:
F:\Steam_LIB\steamapps\common\DayZ\DayZ_x64.exe -mod=@MoreFood;
(i really wish adding mods was like 7dtd, where we just extract a mod into a folder, and the 'game itself" would ideally just load and merge the contents, like that game or rimworld :)
