Keep getting sick from zombie hits?

I've gotten sick 7 times in the last 2 days. 5 times I've just started sneezing and couching non stop and twice I've started vomiting every time I ate/ drank something, even while on low food and water.

edit: why did they make sicknesses so insanely common and medicine so insanely rare, anyway?

Can agree this feature needs some serious work or removal.

Not really, learn how to avoid getting sick or how to treat it when it happens. It is not that difficult. Zombies do not cause illness in vanilla, but on servers running the Medical Attention mod you can get infected if they draw blood. If that is the case you should look up the mod page in the workshop and read about it, it is more complex than vanilla.

Make an educated guess. If medicine isn't produced anymore but people still get sick what goes first? ;)
Getting sick without a hospital to treat you can be deadly even if it's a minor thing when society was working.
If you look at all the survival horror apocalypse zombie series food, medicine and ammo are rare and the main thing driving the protagonists to loot for more.

What's the point of looting though if medicine barely spawns and the game randomly makes you vomit until you die? DayZ is being made harder and harder just for the sake of "it's a survival game" even though it makes the game far less fun.
I'm all for a nice survival game if it's balanced well but this is just way too rng heavy right now, more so than in the last update atleast.

Also as mentioned above are you playing on a modded server? Vanilla doesn't make you sick from zombie hits / bandaging with rags. You must be playing on a server that has medical attention running.

I'm playing on a vanilla server so the zombir hits might just be a coincidence but the rate at which you get sick is ridiculously high and it's a pain in the ass and to cure.

You don't get sick unless you expose yourself to sickness by eating rotten fruit or raw meat, drink contaminated water or get cold in the rain and don't warm up fast enough (or get too close to another player who is sick). This is by design and it is great to see it back in the game, it's been too much run and gun for a long long time.

DIsinfect all water containers. Pour out and use on bottle/canteen. Meds are avail in Electro and Stolichny , both close to fresh xosr spawns. Make sure to check houses and cars NEXt to the facilitie. They usually get overlooked and have lotta shiny loot

What rjfurie said... ITs probably not a hit from a zombie its most likely contaminated water. If you are near a fresh spawn area dont just drink a plastic bottle of water or a canteen. Someone may have filled it with infected water so you would get sick and they can kill you easy (they probably wait near a hospital for you).

The best tip is to be patient and to look and you will find. If you can't find ask on this discussion board or youtube and the answer will become clear. Then run around killing all the Zombie's you see (post it on youtube if you can get creative on how or how many zombies you can kill). If you can run through a very infested town, get all the Z's to follow you and then kill them all with 1 grenade (and not get sniped by a human) then I would like to see that.
