if you try to run it in 4k you're gonna run into the same issue of videocard having to work a lot while giving lower framerates compared to 1080p/1440p
not a problem when using vsynced 60fps, having it run at 100% all the time just kills the longevity of the card while not getting any better performance. some would argue the couple miliseconds of delay tradeoff for more stable performance isnt worth it with vsync, but i got used to it just fine, i couldnt live without it in games.
also as mentioned above, 100% gpu while failing to meet the target/vsynced framerate is even worse than it running at 50% with stable fps, cause then u get fluctuating framerates that can be perceived as stuttering
Capped fps at 119 (with 120 hz display) in driver, vsync off, g-sync on. 3440x1440. GPU usage is around 50-60%, depends of the map. In large cities usually around 60%.
Quite a bit of confusing info here; I run the game in 4K with an RTX2080Ti 8Gb overclocked, and it hardly ever goes above 70% load @ 66Deg C. With Vsync off I get frames between 50 and 70, and with Vsync on I run a consistent 55 to 60 FPS, which gives me a smoother feel to the game. Either way I get no tearing or stutters so I'm not sure which is best most of the time, but I prefer to have Vsync on, it "feels" smoother.
I would hate for my GPU to run above 80% load, as the temps go up to 70C, which sometimes happen in GTA V, but there I run in 2D, defo not 4K, my CPU is not up to it.
I guess it's up to the sum of parts in one's rig rather than the GPU alone.
