Ban raiding instead. The balance between building and raiding is all out of whack, will be even worse with 1.18.
What benefits are there to building anymore? None. Now players have grenade launchers, c4, personel mines, along with all the grenades currently in the game. Raiding now takes 30 seconds with no way to defend.
What risks are there to raiding? None. And there should be.
Ban raiding.
Of course the maps and there loot locations are so ingrained in many players that its too late to make much of a difference
Essentially blocking off a good loot spawn and hoarding all the weapons to themselves as they keep spawning.
It's just plain stupid.
I agree about the discord divas. Battle eye should just add a script to detect it running in the background and kick those players from official. Community servers could have an option to allow or disallow it. At least the best Dayz YTuber Soursweet never uses is to make his content immersive and now M1ndr is doing the same committing himself to only using radios ingame.
Most of those content creators have scripted the whole thing with server admins.
Just tents and crates? Tents and stashes were certainly in the Arma 2 Mod, but how are you forgetting WALLS and GATES?
"it takes 30 seconds to raid" - be sure this explosives will be way more hard to get than it is set right now on experimental (the spawnrate is obviously increased to test the new toys).
so raiding takes some preparation too.
and yes, destroying a wall should be easier than building one. i dont see the problem here. people just overrate bases and want save gear for many characters - yea dayz wont give u that.
Casual players like myself, who never use discord, rather enjoy the experience of traveling / meeting strangers who might be friendly, teaming up with randoms. We don't get a chance to "raid" because we don't store our inventory in some base.
Currently it's very difficult for casual players to destroy even a single layer of wall. It would be better if the bases were a LOT more fragile, then the base builder would have to be more stealthy in setting it up so nobody sees it. Or simply make it impossible to board up near / inside buildings with loot.
But in my opinion, bases go against the experience of this game. The fact you can't store your inventory somewhere / stashed, it removes your "safe haven" from the game, and you'll always be in the survival mindset, especially as your personal inventory keeps growing.
it looks so stupid when there are massive towers, and bases looking like castles...
It should look like a small camp, with a campfire, a few tent, and thats all... it should be camo'd so that its barely visible in the woods, and it should be easy to raid - like a few granades breaking a wall is enough to raid the base.
You want to defend the base? Stay online more often and defend your base with your own gun.
Instead its heavily secured metal bases that have multiple layers of doors and their stash ruins the server economy for everybody, since they have the best, and most deadliest weapons hidden in there, not allowing them to spawn for other players.
