newbie here, what should I do? /have wound infection

Newbie here, this is my 5th attempt to survive in DayZ as a solo player and I was progressing quite good until I got wound infection (stage 1 or 2?). I'm at Zelenogorsk, but cannot find any tetracycline. Already checked the local medical center but found nothing. Looking at the iZurvive map, but cant find anything else, suggestions? Also how do I prevent this? Postscript= sorry for the silly question

i feel you bro im pretty new also lol and i ate some honey im guessing something was dirty now i'm throwing up when i eat/drink xD so running around nibbling on items ahaha hope you find an answer mate and goodluck

stage 1 = Yodine / Vodka (or staying very full hp, full food full water)
stage 2 = tetracycline

If stage 2 isnt cured, you will die.

Thanks! Was wondering if I can find tetracycline in military areas? Or do they spawn only in medical buildings?

When you're at a clinic or hospital, check all loo spots right next to them. Sometimes the loot will "spill" over to nearby places. Also kill all medic zeds.

Vodka? :D No it's alcoholic tincture.
Also full stats, i.e. strong immunity system doesn't affect the wound infection.

it does, i had wound infection, and i was full on everything, i decided to wait for it to go stage 2, to then use tetra, but it suddenly disappeared.

it does, i had wound infection, and i was full on everything, i decided to wait for it to go stage 2, to then use tetra, but it suddenly disappeared.

It must have been a bug or a mod, because looking at the code now, wound infection has the same highest "potency" (=resistance to immunity) as kuru, which doesn't heal with immunity either.
I think I'm gonna test it in-game just to be sure anyway..

Stage 1 is curable with Iodine/Alcohol tincture/disinfectant These can all be found in various places.

After 20 mins you will enter stage 2. Then you must use Tetracycline Tablets to cure it. These are found in medical centres/hospitals. Also check the cars and buildings right next to the medical centres as sometimes they spawn there. Might also be worth killing medical zombies.

Prevention is to use only disinfected bandages and disinfected rags to heal.

I would add, bandage those cuts to hands and feet you get by sliding down ladders, snapping branches and running bare foot.

Got me when wound infection was introduced and I stubbornly let the wound close itself.
