DayZ
Singleplayer/co-op?
Does this game offer anything if I'm interested in singleplayer or co-op play?

Thank you

you can play in offline mode for single player or in a server with your friends for co-op

If you play it as a personal server then yes it can be played SP but if I am correct you then need to have two instances running at the same time as 1 will be as the server and another as the client you play on.

If you do play SP then it will be like you are on a LOW POP server so your all the proximity triggered spawns will be more concentrated on you and in greater number because there are set entity limits per server to ensure performance so of course if you are the only player you will see/hear more animals in your area, eg. to hunt or to be hunted by. The infected may be a bit more numerous too as they are no longer being shared out over the whole map of maybe 50 players triggering them. Dynamic spawns will also be more concentrated near you as you are the only trigger when the tick comes around so yes maybe and probably more helicopters, but also more gas attacks inconveniet when you just reach that juicy mil spawn you wanted to stock up on mags or NBC gear in.

you can spawn anything into the game in any amount so its a great way to practice with all the guns or grenades or building and survival stuff etc

i spawn guns with ammo then 100 zombies or cows and practice shooting from different distances, its a great way to hone your skills

You can play by yourself or do PvE, but there's not really any meaningful goal to work towards. You could probably experience all the variety DayZ has to offer in regards to PvE or coop in a single play session.

If you want to play solo with loot persistance and mods I made a tool to easily launch a local server with all the mods you want.
Look here for more information : https://steamcommunity.com/app/221100/discussions/0/6006138415295908814/
This tool is a spreadsheet and it contain a "PvE" sheet that can help you to find interesting mods to play solo.

work towards improving your gun skills because you can spawn anything in and teleport yourself anywhere

its fun to spawn an SVD sit on top of a clock tower and then spawn hundreds of zeds all over and practice your aim using different scopes and stuff too
