Hours and hours and hours of walking searching for parts, carrying tires for miles, avoiding zombies and wasting all the ammo I had left from up North and little did I know 2 days earlier when I found the car shot up that spelled my doom. When the ADA gets shot or crash or severely damaged in anyway the car chassis itself gets ruined and it displays a red engine light, once that light is on a 24(? at the very least) hour timer begins until its despawn. I put all my high quality loot and extra parts in that car not knowing time was limited, from the coast to every small town in the vicinity and checking every car spawn only to find tires missing or nothing at all. Hours of my life wasted for this car and it despawns because some jerk thought it would be funny to shoot a car that had nothing in or on it. Please don't make the same mistake, if you find a car with a red engine light and some dubiously ruined parts assume it will despawn and find another one to spend time with. It's far to late to refund but it is never to late to uninstall. Thank you all for your time.

cars are still crap, just today i went into mine, i didnt even start the engine and it starts bouncing around and catapults from balota right into the water in front of electro. had to relog to get out of the car. car inventory was full with loot that i collected over a week...
yea sadly this game isnt even close to 1.0 release:(
Cant wait til they release helicopters, thats gona be a even bigger mess.
I played the day z mod alot, but dayz standalone is a shame of a game. still buggy as hell 5 years later.
sadly there is no other game that comes close to some aspects of this one.
still dont understand how they where able to f this up that bad.
even the ark devs did more in that time frame, bohemia should be ashamed.

I had the same car for over 2 weeks. Even had sit for almost a full week while I had to find new parts for it. Blue the rad and ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up a tire but I still have it

I cannot see myself playing this game without the cars; Yes it's bouncy and crap to drive, but it totally changes how you play the game, and I have not been "catapulted" by a car anywhere, ever. OP had a bad experience due to not knowing how things work, cannot blame the game for that, it's at your end bud.

if that never happened to you, you cant be playing this game very long. even back in the mod they had problems with flipping vehicles, or the famous cherno bridge that shot you and your atv into space.
i guess it is a game engine problem. but its still annoying after almost 10 years dayz^^
and of course the gameplay is better with a car @joe, thats why we are complaining that they suck^^ because we want to use them, but they are sadly not worth it when it takes you a week to find the parts.
and then suddenly a bug kills or flips or catapults your vehicle and all the stuff in it away.
i rly miss the gold old epoch days with lockable cars, all the helis and stuff that worked.
standalone is so far away still, its just sadening...

I play on a friends server and my own. On the friends server where I have all kinds of issues with my car where they don't have nay issues at all.

You sure make wild assumptions very easily; I bought this game in 2014 and never bothered with cars until a few months ago, when me and my friends started to build them. At the moment we have 4 working cars, we have destroyed quite a few and then built more, and not one of us have been killed by, or catapulted into the air by a car.

In the space of a few hours, over two threads, you have now insulted me, accused me of lying, belittled me, suggested that I am stupid, and even called me an average Joe. I'm sure I am very average, but your behaviour on here is distasteful and uncalled for. If you have an opinion or you want to make a point, then try and do so without insulting people.
