The best gear in dayz at the moment?

Hello guys! I just returned to dayz so i am asking you about what gear is the best at the moment? Guns,backpack,food source,clothes,medicals and must have items

hunting outfit is nice, same for any millitary one, for guns , shotguns are awesome specially for new ppl and self defence. for long range i like the mosin with PU scope. as for backpacks the selfmade one, assault one and all other millitary ones beside fieldback are nice. mp5 and SKS rock aswell for guns since easy to find and lots of ammo, sks has a internal mag so its ready to go

Top tier item you might want:

NVG + the tactical helmet where they can be attached. There's also a NVG head harness that seems harder to find.

75rds drum mag for AKM. The closest thing you can get to a LMG at the moment.

VSS Vintorez and Dragunov sniper rifles. (the rifles are super rare, but the magazines are common)

FAL (the rifle is super rare and so are the magazines)

All types of suppressors have become extremely rare.

Backpack haven't changed much. Military vest have changed, they now have grenade slots and there's the Assault Vest which can use a butt back add-on and generally looks cooler than the old field vests. Assault belt which can hold canteen and pistol holsters have been added too.

Food: Rice, powdered milk and canned bacon are the best to carry around. Lots of calories and non perishable.

If you find water bottles and canteen, you have to empty them because the water can be contaminated now.

Metal pots are still the best way to carry water IMHO as they can hold other items at the same time as water.

Hunting backpack as it holds as much as many backpacks but you can still look over you shoulder unimpeded as you run away from the Bear and that,s what you should do unless you have an AR with plenty of rounds !

best gear is subjective to an extent, I normaly just like playing with civi gear and low tier guns.
If I had to put a gun that I think is the best it would prob be the VSD tho

I think the most versatile and reliable (in terms of stopping power) weapon is the LAR.
you can use it as a sniper with semi auto on long distances and it packs a real punch on full auto in CQB.
the only letdown is no regular silencer but I'd say with a VSS and a LAR you're good to go
