How to pick from fruit tree?

im new to dayz and i seen in older versions where ppl would walk up to the tree and search for apples but i see you cant do that so how would i get fruits?

you now collect fallen fruit. look on the ground around trees.

ahh ok. i thought that but i didnt see any apples on the ground under a couple trees so i thought it didnt work that way. someone probably took em lol

Apples do take some time to spawn and they also respawn after some time...so either someone was faster than you or you've been too fast...
Also: not every tree has apples underneath...
