Making a bow doesn't work?

I got a long stick, and some rope.
But it seems I can't combine them to make a bow. Neither can I drag the rope to the circle slot on the long stick. Has the recipe changed?

Cannot make bow with rope and wooden stick?

On wiki they said I can make a bow with rope (by gathering 12 rags) and a wooden stick (by cutting off bushes with a knife). I made a rope then cut bush and got a wooden stick. But I cannot make the bow. Does anyone know why and a fix for this?

The bow has not be added back in yet. With the new engine came an entirely new animation and scripting language. This is also why other weapons are missing. They will be added in at a later date.

I'm having the same issue.
I've always crafted a bow before since that's my preffered playstyle, but now I'm unable to do that.

Then for now I'll close the game and keep my eyes opened for when the bow returns.
That was the only way I liked to play dayz since I'm more of the sneaky kind of guy, running around in the woods in a ghillie with a bow and so on..
