How to PLACE tent?

Found a tent, how to place it? It gets white, but my character does not put the tent down.

you need to hold LMB until it's up. it can be hard to find a spot because its oversensitive to anything not completely non-flat

Im having an incredibly hard time placing it aswell. Also, is it supposed to light up or say something different when you are in a suitable place?

Make sure you click first. It will be a transparent white, then solid white when you can place it. Then you hold to place. Click then hold.

This is BS with the Non-Placement of tents.. I started playing at the very start of DayZ and we could put it anywhere on the side of a Mountain.. Now we need a Tennis Court to place a tent.. The Worst is the Car tent But without a floor items will disappear quicker.. We could place them in the Very large Barns with Double Doors at each end. But Hey this is "DAYZ" , We have only been playing it for 9 years. Are things so Hard to fix, Even for a great game that has been so good for a long time..

Tents need very flat ground to place in Dayz, Also they are very easy to spot form far away as the grass around them will fail to render making yoru tent very obvious

i miss having upgradable stashes from mod, wish we could get these back again.

You can cut down bushes to make space for your tent. When the bushes respawn, your tent is nicely covered up. You can also block the doorway to your tent with a tree using the same trick.

Now don't get me wrong, your loot is probably gone by next morning, but at least you might be able to troll some unprepared survivor who doesn't carry a hatchet.
