Truck fuel economy and the latest update?
Though I've no idea if this was addressed in the latest update or if it was just previously glitching on me somehow?

Previously I could travel a very long distance on a jerrycans worth of fuel.
Could not say exactly how far but a whole lot farther than now (maybe 8x the distance?)

After the recent patch to v 1.17, It took nearly an entire jerrycan full to travel from one of the two gas stations near the roundabouts by Chernogorsk to the other station..

Yeah, I checked this after I noticed the truck was getting a more realistic fuel economy than it was previously, and that's likely about how far you'd get in the real world with a truck like that. (they are measured in gallons per mile, rather than miles per gallon.. lol)

Not that this is a complaint, as I was seriously thinking the mileage needed adjusting anyway. But the patch notes I've seen, mentions nothing about this..

Anyone else noticed this?

Also, granted this is on a private server, otherwise I would not be driving that death trap at all, far to slow to evade any form of attack..
Other vehicles either, because they aint much better in that regard..

Vehicles in vanilla can receive some kind of damage (tank?) which leads to the leakage of fuel, similar to the damaged radiator. I don't know if this kind of damage can be repaired.

Yes I understand that..
For the most part, its only myself on the server, so no bullet holes..
It's ran over many zed's though.. lol
Unknown if that can damage the tank?

But the tank is not leaking.
I've also left the truck sit for a while and the fuel gauge did not budge..

btw from my understanding, if the tank takes damage, there is no way to repair them.

Sounds like a damaged fuel tank. Its a long time since I had one so I'm not certain if you can repair it or not?

Though in the grand scheme of things the petrol stations in Chernarus seem to have no trouble with supply.

You can check the condition of the the tank by looking at it. I have unsuccessfully tried to repair it with the pipe wrench and epoxy putty, but maybe i just missed the right spot, so i'm not sure about it. The vehicle won't lose fuel when turned off, even with a leaking fuel tank...
P.S. I don't think the zombies cause any vehicle damage on vanilla, maybe you brushed against something somewhere along the way.

Didn't notice this earlier, But the green dot shown for the fuel tank is a lighter shade of green (somewhat lime in color) than other parts, so yes its a damaged tank..

Really threw me off that the tank don't leak without the engine running,
So thanks for that bit of info Coco Rouge..

Have had the truck for a while now,
So have no Idea if damaged due to driving it or it's just a time thing?
Has been off road many times, so could be damage from bushes or environment in general?

Edit: should have added, In a way, I like it due to the fact the truck really does get a more reasonable gas mileage than it did before..

Last truck i drove had a badly damaged fuel tank and was losing fuel at a slower rate than you've described. So maybe there are other "bodyparts" that can get damaged and contribute to or cause fuel loss, maybe it is wierd bug. Either way, happy refueling!^^
As far as i know there is no "wear and tear" damage on vehicles, it's always caused by something (collision; weapon; vehicle gets slammed around at server restart; demonic possession...)
