Are plate carriers better than the press vests for stopping bullets?

Plate carriers weigh significantly more, so it would seem like they should. But I dont know so I'd figure I would ask because I can't find info on it.

tactical vests no longer give any protection and do the same as a field vest.

stab vests and press vests give a 50% dmg reduction but stab vests have much much less durability.

and plate carriers give a 75% dmg reduction and have the highest hitpoints before being ruined.

once ruined they all give zero protection.

OP this site will be a godsend for you.
lots of different tools that can explain the stats around dayz. and wobo updates it to the newest patch as soon as he figures out the stats if anything changes.
