Hello all thinking of buying the game but hearing alot from people about all the hacking can anyone confirm if there is alot of hacking in game?

Just pick a Game always going to be players hacking find a server with password or active admin is your best chance of a good play though.

hackers are only on official servers as there is no admins, i dont really know how many people are hacking but ive only experienced it once in 800 hours

Yep they are everywhere, HUGE WAVES of them.. on EVERY server..
They use the old and tested Skill and effort hacks.
If you are killed in this game it is ALWAYS a cheat.. ALWAYS, no exception..

Just installed this morning after a long, long hiatus.. I played a grand total of about 2 hours. My first and only PvP was a foreign hacker who immediately spotted me through a wall, asked me if I wanted to die ( I wanted a fight, so..) I rounded the building as I heard him trying to flank, the second I round the corner he instantly headshots me through a fence which, with the two available view modes would have been impossible to see me. Honestly I now that I think back I should have caught it easy just from his play style. Running through town shooting everything down with what seemed like an endless supply of ammo, not a care in the world. I imagine he had a chuckle at my trying to flank him.

edit: also, not sure if this is part of the hack or just ♥♥♥♥ game design but when he VOIP threatened me, the voice sounded ALL AROUND me. Genuinely sounded as if I was in a discord channel with him hearing him speak.

Way to report? There's none. How the f would you report someone you can't identify? BattleEye is apparently ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ worthless and official servers aren't policed. Some are saying to play private community servers which in all fairness is a good option but it shows you how little the dev/publisher think of this IP.

also @baddoggs sounds like you're part of the problem. Conflict of interest? Have you tried official servers? I mean, my first and only encounter after installing the game? Surely this isn't coincidence?

3500 hours and not ONCE have i run into a cheater on community servers... not once!

if you play modded you would be very unlucky to run into one as there banned as soon as there seen doing anything dodgy

Same, about the same amount of hours and never have I had PROOF of a hacker. Once I felt like maybe this was not right.

@golddigger. It is an online multiplayer sandbox. Yes there is hackers just like there is in any game. Is it overly populated with them, no. It is over populated with people who wont admit they got owned.

Is there ways to avoid hackers. PLENTY. The majority of questionable hackers come from 2 regions. (I cant mention reason at risk of thread being closed) . There is plenty of Vanilla or close to Vanilla community servers that you can go to with active admins that will keep the game play safe.

The simple answer is, for most, the game is just FUN. There is many ways you can play the game (Options) and the game is more then worth Full price, on sale it is a steal. This year for me anyways has been great patch/update wise..

I no longer play PVP. I am into survival based servers now, Its more relaxing to me and when I die it is because the environment got me, or I F'D up. I would add, not buying the game because of script kiddies with no talent is only depriving yourself of a lot of fun. If you have buddies that play even better.

I haven't run into the hackers myself with 1200 hours :) Luckily.. But the servers with good admins are high in numbers, it seems. Ive tried like a houndred of them. BUT in all fairness, they destroy the game when they cheat, and i cant find myself to understand why. Why is it so much fun to shoot a person who just spawned? with NO gear..

I play community and official and there is one time where I think a player cheated. Which was a shame as it was a fun experience.

It often seems that many players call cheat because they died and never saw who killed them. Getting killed by an unseen players after many hours of gearing up does happen in this game and that can make many players really salty.

Rarely have I seen proof of cheaters though I've seen many claims and plenty of players who 'just know' it was a cheater.

NO, WRONG.. If you take the time to learn the game, THAT makes you a dirty
rotten cheat that is clearly ruining the game. There ought to be "special servers"
for anyone with more than 200 hrs in the game as it clearly gives us HUGE
and un fair advantage that utterly ruins the game for the Poor sensitive new age
gamer of today. Anyone who takes time to practice and learn the game should be
ashamed of themselves...
