Namalsk. I keep dying.
I haven't played in like 5 years. There are very few places to loot and even single houses are covered with zombies. If I take care of the freezing with a fire in the woods then I starve to death. If I go into a house to get food (there is very little) then it's frozen and I die while trying to defrost or I get beat to death by the thousand zombies guarding a single house. I find all sorts of guns but none of the right ammo. I've played 8 respawns in the last 2 hours.
I thought zombies didn't charge you during the day? Why are they all running at day and night? wtf? I'm playing on dayone server 4 trying to learn. I was like the only one on there.

Namalsk is not really a map to re-learn on, unless you have a lot of tolerance. A lot has changed in 5 years. You will find vanilla chernarus easier to survive on.

Ok, Namalsk working correctly...

try learning the game in offline mode first before you play the hardest map

No. I like that it's difficult. I just have trouble figuring out what to do. I'm missing a first step I think.

The thing with Namalsk is, everything is frozen. BUT... You can swim to avoid
poi's like the dam if you head south. Make sure you can light a fire right after
you get to the other side and wring out your clothing. Vitamins are gold as well.
Looting the big city in the north near the spawns is tricky and dangerous.
Personally i just loot a few buildings around the firestation at the northern
end of the city then head south past the dam looting the small outposts and
individual shacks.
One of my favorate loot spots is the island to the west with the lighthouse
and wrecked ship.

Namalsk is very easy on an empty server because there's so much loot and it respawns so fast. But the biggest threat on Namalsk is other players. It would be almost impossible for me to die on an empty Namalsk server, but on populated ones it is very hard for me to survive.

Dont go into the appartment complexes - they dont spawn food there so you will die looting them. Look for huts, they spawn food

They absolutely spawn food. Namalsk is the one map where the small and large apartment buildings actually have loot, and a lot. Check the bathtubs, shelves, under the stairs etc., find rifles on the roofs as well if you're feeling ballsy, but snipers can be common on full servers. Everywhere in Vorkuta is good for food except for the industrial stuff.

They spawn a lot less food and loot per square meter though. If i spawn in the are of Vorkuta i always just go around Vorkuta to that village near the refugee camp and max out food there.

Yeah, that's a good spot I feel most people ignore, has a safe(er) water pump right on the hill next to it as well. But I stay the hell away from the fugee camp on the other side. There's always either some j-off camping it in the tree line, someone casually running in while I'm sneaking through it alerting the whole camp, or someone else doing the same as me, leading to the same scenario or worse. I hate that camp so much lol. The risk/reward is ridiculous on a full server :lunar2019grinningpig:

or just punch some zombies. its how I always get my food in a pinch

When you spawn in, turn on your heatpack. Sprint to a nearby town and find everything to cover your body to avoid a permanent disease called frostbite. If your body in your inventory shows blue squares then you are at risk for frostbite.

Find a bush and cut sticks from your hands. Make sure you watch if you are cut/bleeding while doing this. If you spawn near Vorkuta, go to the school gym where there is a giant fire pit. You need to unfreeze food and drinks by placing them near a fire. Make sure you have the white plus sign so you can be warm for a while (you may sometimes need to walk away from the fire to activate the plus sign, which takes some seconds and the thermostat must be white where the temperature isn't going up or down.)

If you want you can add me so so I can guide you through.

Namalsk is the easiest map to survive... food is everywhere..same as tons of weapons and ammo.
Its not a challenge at all..
Official servers are the hardest ones at the moment..
But for someone who didn't play for long time i agree to play on officials first to get used to the game and then namalsk.

I ended up surviving a good amount of time yesterday. I ended up only dying because I was shot in the head while getting some bark lol.
It seemed the trick is to find a fireplace and light it with the flare to get the buff, then find a knife to make bark/stick firestarters or a lighter or whatever. Once I figured out the freezing thing and how being warm greatly decreases how much food you need, it became pretty easy.
Not sure what the heck is going on with the whispering walking around the house I'm in and the screen turning black but that's interesting.
