Do bases get wiped when servers wipe?

My favorite server just said a message saying its going to do its first server reset on December 1st so does this mean I am going to lose my base and character? I hope not because I got tons of stuff including vechiles and have things I plan to do. :(

It does. And before you get to mad and quit the server.. (just saying)

All servers eventually have to wipe. We do ours 2-4 a year. Depending on Bi updates. So if you like where you are then dont quit thinking they are screwing you or something. It is just part of the game.

Wipes are needed, esp on modded servers. They keep the map clean and the server files clean. Besides starting off is the best part of game. and it will take you half the time to rebuild.

Yes all that tasty tasty loot is about to go bye bye. The last few days before a wipe are about the only time it gets interesting on the big base building community servers as all the cave dwellers finally risk coming out to pew pew with all the weapons they've been hoarding away to lag down their server.

I'm pretty sure that after numerous gates and paddlocks filling a base with rubbish to lag the area to be impossible to play in, is the main line of defence to some players.
