Client contains PBO error

How do I fix this? I tried reinstalling, verifying cache, using launcher without mods (i do not have any mods).

Go to the folder \Steam\steamapps\common\DayZ\Addons

in there delete all the files you see then verify your game data then try the server again.

To me it looks like a left over file from either a mod or if you have never used a mod an older build of the game.

thats pretty much just an uninstall ive already tried this. I am subscribed to no mods, fresh install and i still get the error.

Well an uninstall will just remove recognised game files not remaining mod files, Think uninstalling Arma 2 but leaving the likes of EPOCH mod or whatever there, the mod files will remain while the game is uninstalled.

You can search that folder for the relevant file but that doesn't guarantee you won't end up with yet another error.

I dont have any mods I already checked all the folders, my game was working like 3 days ago last time I played.

I too have this issue. Yesterday was playing on server & today I log onto same server & get kicked with "something something.pbo" Deleted all the pbo files in the Addon folder, verified files then dl'ed them again(thru Steam). Still can't get into the server I could play on yesterday. :(

This game is FC>KD up totally. i've got the same. This is a joke . more time i spent in server browser trying to play than ingame., F.c.k Bohemia

It might be happening because the server hasn't updated or the launcher can't find a certain file. If you can successfully join a different server, it's a server-side problem instead of anything wrong on your end. If you can't join any server, the problem might be in the launcher itself. I play modded so I often use DZSA Launcher. Sometimes, my server doesn't show up so I use the vanilla launcher. Think of it like having two sets of keys to the same car. (You don't have to play modded in order to use the DZSA Launcher.)

You also don't have to use DZSA launcher to play modded. The official launcher often seems to handle the modded servers better in fact.

You have been given the tools and info to fix this error, your client does not match the server, so make your client vanilla and try an official server, when you get this working and only then, attempt to play modded servers. Use the official Launcher.

if you still cannot fix this issue then I suggest uninstalling the game and manually deleting the mods and Dayz folder under steam. if you need help doing this please ask.

then reinstall.

Hey brain... it frackin happens when the server version does not match your client as well... but what ever. A simple 2 second google search would tell you all about that but i guess its just to hard for simple minds! Maybe Pong is more appropriate for you...

Maybe i'm sick and tired of errors. If i have fresh download game and i'm trying to enter vanilla server and it gives me annoying errors, so trust me i dont want again "google search" for another bohemian sh.it . And Pong is rather appriopriate for you if you dont understand that i dont have any mod

Pong is actually great, I played it with a friend in a arcade hall. tate mode with 2 dials. It is so responsive and holds up great at this day and age.
