flagpoles, what do they affect?

i read online that they reset persistence for everything in a 60 meter radius every 5 days, however i only see the flag icon on my base structures. will it protect my storage crates too?

If the server has the mod, And you build a flagpole. After a few days it starts going down, You can raise it anytime, Raising it will reset the time. I think all these can be set by admins of the server.. If the flag goes all the way down the server timer will start the persistence. After that it goes by reg. time. So as long as your flag is active, your stuff will stay.
