Improvised shelter

How long do they last for storage? Do I need to interact with everything in it to keep it from despawning, or does interacting with the shelter prevent everything in it from despawning?

If you visit every week it won't despawn. There is a chart with the despawn times for safety, but you only have to remove or add an item to interact. Useful little buggers, those shelters, just don't get too attached, or leave anything too valuable. I use them as watering stops with some basic meds and food, seldom any weapons or ammo though...

I have 2 near my camp. I use them as bait, some food meds, a few useless pistols. They are easily seen and take eyes off my burial mounds. So far so good.

I tried to figure out how to bury things, but couldn't figure out how to do anything with the shovel but dig a garden.

I tried to figure out how to bury things, but couldn't figure out how to do anything with the shovel but dig a garden.

Shovel in hand, you walk up to and look at the dry sack, sea chest, improvised crate and the bury command will show up.

I am older and I am starting to forget things. A helpful hint, I use the Izurvive map to mark my sites. LOL I know sad, but, whatever it works.

I've been playing on a very low population server, so I'm hoping my camp will go unnoticed lol... it's 2 improvised shelters and now 3 buried spots, but they're pretty well hidden.

I think u need to expect. Not if they find my stash (one or more) but when.
