This is a recurring issue all over the place - official and community servers both. I'm wired and 10 miles from the server I usually play on and it can be pinging 30ms when I log in and then I get kicked for a 700+ms latency. Sometimes the internet looks like it is congested (using tracert) and other times it looks like the DayZ server did something. No known 'fix'. At least when it happens your character is instantly gone.

The server admin can change the latency kick value. Standard it kicks at 200. Dayz is a little ichy about latency, i have set it to 500 on my server.
I use wifi 6 with super conditions and even with this i got kicked sometimes.

I was using wireless when i first started and got kicked all the time.. minutes after joining any server. I changed over to wired connection and have not been kicked in 1700 hours so no idea. Some people still get kicked...

the only way you can fix it is if you hard wire your ethernet cable straight from the router into your pc thats what i have done and thats fixed it

This can fix one of the reasons for latency kicking but there are causes that are out of the players control. Suggestion: Remove "the only way you can fix it" from your computer vocabulary. :-)

well mate sorry about my "vocabulary" but the lad wanted to know how i fixed it and for me every method that i got told didnt fix it so actually right now for me that is the only solution and is the only way for me and others to not get kicked from the game for latency, ever since i hard wired it is hasnt kicked me.

Hey Smith, I see that originally, you were already wired when you had the issue to begin with, so when you fixed the issue, did you remove something from the equation? i.e. was your PC on a switch and you bypassed that and ran CatV straight to the Router or Modem?

I am curious because I am having the same issue for the past week (see https://steamcommunity.com/app/221100/discussions/0/3109144584168532474/ ) and have a modem, then router, then switch. This setup ran perfectly for months until recently, so I was contemplating wiring straight to the modem and leaving everything else on the switch (router doesn't have any extra ports), and wonder if that's what you did to resolve your issue?

Cheers
