Trader & Money Server
I got a question about the popularity of servers that have traders and revolve around money; why and how is it becoming more appealing to most players?
Personally,I don't see any appeal in it at all, I'm an old dayz mod vet whom saw the transformation from 2012 vanilla to epoch/overwatch/Over-pochen dayz(which introduced traders) sub mods. Overtime I always saw a degradation of the survival part of the game and I grew to hate the popular sub mods.
Whats your take? Opinion?

People can play dayz how ever they like. Who really cares if people play on those servers. I think there dumb, but who cares not everyone has 6 hours a day to play.

I agree wit Doc. The beauty is people have so many options. I too am a A2 Vet. 3k hours I think. And I loved when overpoch (and others) came out. I was still playing A2DZ 3 years after the release of SA. I loved near the end the AI got real good and you could do full blown missions against them. Or they would set up random roadblocks and frag ur butt if you get caught unawares.

My main server now does not have a trader or money. It is lower loot, tougher zombies. So I get what your saying about survival. But I play on a few servers and some have that. Economy gives some players something to work towards. Because thats what they need. MOD is not a bad word. And if not for a little MOD like what 10-12 years ago, we would not be here now would we?

As long as it does attract more gamers which do pay for the game its ok for me. Without pewpew players the lifetime of the game would be much shorter and i couldnt enjoy the harsh survival part of it.. cuz the game would sure be neglected.
Got also money on the server i play on ..as trash-loot without a function.

Yep i agree op when we got to what DayZMod is now its a joke. I feel that the actual base mods origins/epoch/overpoch/wastelands etc are good in their own right and usually pretty balanced. Its all the scripts that servers add on top of the mods.

load outs, halo, immersion breaking ui, toolbox vehicle spawn, spawn selection anywhere on the map etc plus the other 100s of junk scripts they add.

Missions were fun and i feel like some of the extra scripts can be fun if used within reason, others are just flat out cheese and subtract from the game.

Over militarized servers are the worst and is when dayzmod went full retarded. Some mill is ok but tanks? tanks certainly do not fit dayzmod at all. ppl should play a proper a2 or a3 server if they want full mill it does not belong in dayzmod or standalone.

Now that dayz sa opened up the hives and supports modding dayz sa is starting to follow the same cycle.

ugh when that 350z third party script was becoming popular in dayz epoch it was definitely a sign of the times. Nothing but a downwards decline from then on.
