On the PvP side i know a lot of people play 1pp 100% to avoid peeking, because they are hardcore PvP guys and see that as too much of an advantage. So in a way 1pp will attract the more competitive players.
For me its 3pp for life, i like to see my gear and i like to just relax and explore. I avoid PvP say 70% of the time so the peeking dosent effect me so much. I prefer more "instant action" competitive shooters for my 1pp fix.... though its just dawned on me i havent played one in a looooong time.
At the end of the day i think its great the game has both styles, so everyone can find what they like :)
But again everyone can do what ever they want but for me the 1pp feeling is just the "correct" one for Arma and also DayZ.
One can miss something so quick with 1pp its insane and that again generates a lot of fun and unpredictability. A guy can literally be close to you and you wont notice which in 3pp doesnt happen often.
For the KOS part i cant say that its less on 1pp in generall on the community server i play on (which is 1pp) you get KOS most of the time. (for me thats ok)
If i want friendly gameplay i play with FRIENDS. (logic? ;D)
The servers I like ALL are low pop. In dayz numbers we are real small. Most either dont like it, or cant hack it. But I would never consider my game style wrong, or not days. Just a version I like playing. For me it is not even about cheating or whatever, I think 1pp is more immersive.
The 3PP servers I play on, I dont take as serious. I mostly mess around, dont care of I die and am not really playing the immersion side of it. AND my fav server has both, and I just CHOOSE to play 1PP. Cause I play that server for immersion and 1PP gives me that.
is if i need to quickly do a "Visual" check of my gear. Very useful
especially after a few ..er.."refreshments".
99% of the time i am in 1pp, Do i get upset over players using 3pp
in combat? no, why should i? The way i see it is they probably
need the help. Both are there to provide choices, the very best
thing about this game is there is no "RIGHT" way to play.
It is clear that the 3pp servers are for more casual, relax way to play, they have much brighter nights, a crosshair for hipfire, the peaking mechanic and after trying it for a few hours i found food, items and other things much easier to find.
If people want to play 3pp, by all means let them, they want an easier dayz experience, but the people who want the hardcore experience will go 1pp, unfortunately their is less of them.
As for the loot, I could be wrong, it could be just great luck? I don't know... but 3pp tends to have more necessary loot spawning then the 1pp where u tend to find a lot of useless items.
Its a community server though not official, could be the nights are brighter on he BI servers. Il defo check it out later and see what results i get, 1pp vs 3pp and community vs official :)
CLE is exactly the same on 1pp and 3pp servers.
Thanks for the info :)
The brightness of night does differ between 1pp Only and 3pp servers, However I am not aware of the loot being different on Official servers. I imagine it just a perception thing be because with 3pp personal drone view it is far easier to loot areas more quickly with less risk so you cover more ground on 3pp than on 1st person only in the same time.
Agree on the periscope looting, defo seems to make it easier to spot items. On 1pp probs a lot easier to miss things.
I think etwas is 100% right though, the night thing isnt related to the view (maybe on official) but on community servers its a setting so you can have dark nights and 3pp, like the server im on :)
It is not specifically related to the person view but I think on Official it de-facto is. 1pp darker. 3pp night is really long long dusk.
Of course on Community it is set how the server owner wants it, I'm sure Spaggies set the night on their servers to be as dark as dark can be and you certainly don't want to be moving much without NVG's in the wolf habits.
1PP only on the other hand you have to expose yourself to see what your target is doing so this way you are at risk of being seen if the other player is looking around.
I mean you do you but saying 3pp is fair is BS.

well to be honest here you wouldn't like Bohemia changing all servers to 3pp right? i didn't think so, i mean i have played allot of dayz exile and have something like 2600 hours in the stand alone, i prefer 3pp it has its disadvantages as well, and as far as your list,.... here you go, the issue is your confusing causality and consequence,... i think what your missing is that your dealing with a substantially smaller slice of the dayz community as a whole. of course people who play 1pp think thats the way it should be,.. thats confirmation bias, and that is also why they allowed their servers to be setup, out of the box, as 1pp servers, i mean you don't want kos, you don't want a toxic community,.. there are plenty of 1pp pve servers to play on.. i don't think its necessary for the devs to bend to your will and force everyone to play the way you prefer.... people complain about all this stuff like being killed on sight, well you need to be in sight in order to be killed on sight,... dayz is essentially a zombie apocalypse survival sandbox, of course people are going to see you, of course people are going to shoot you for anything your carrying, the more hardcore they push the survival aspect of it the more it will happen, the more scarce they make resources, the more it will happen,... just human nature.
