Sound very low in game

Have been playing DayZ in the last day after spending time playing other games I also want to get to.

I instantly noticed how low the ambient volume is in DayZ compared to other games and I have turned the volume up as far as it will go on my PC and in the game.

Any suggestions here?

It is only DayZ that is really quiet compared to other games...

oc this is the first thing to do beside verifying your files if anything is messed up with the game.

I didn't actually try the first part, I just changed the values in the config file which has been moved as he said. Either way, it worked

Yet 1000s of other don't have the issue...
Don't matter what's the cause, it's still a rare issue others don't have.
asts suggestion was the most obvious solution, since windows messes up volumes pretty much each update, but luckily not a problem for me :)

Telling you it's on your end seems to have been the right thing so maybe you learned something :)

This is exactly what I was after and it has completely sorted this issue to the point where I now have to turn my headphones down a bit so it isn't too loud. Changing the value from 10 to 50 seems to have done it.

Hey I found this thread because I think I have the same problem have all the volume turned up and everything still too quiet.

1: Open start menu.
2: Type dayz.cfg in search bar

Edit values as described above

if you are using headphones and then regular speakers, the settings sometimes stay with the 7,1 headphones when you are on speaker or sometimes it could also be nVidia Broadcast.

This last given advice is beyond stellar! I have a new gaming rig and my sound was way too low. I read the very first posts and i must say that assclown pointing their finger shouldn't be allowed to make posts unless trying to help. Thanks again for you helping. It's really appropriated.
