My dedicated server keeps shutting down
I run a dedicated server on my own pc, it is discoverable from the DayZ ingame server browser and people can connect to it from the internet, but it keeps shutting down when i'm not looking. I have left it working for a long time unsupervised 2 times already and when i come back the server app is no longer running both times. I looked through log files but i have not found info about server shutdown reason in any of the log files. Maybe its because of the -freezecheck parameter? What if i dont use it? I am extremely new to DayZ and servers

Check your power settings in windows, sounds like the PC is going to sleep!
Good Luck!

You need to open ports on your router. I dont have the list of ports with me at the moment, try googling it, but it is hard as the info is scarce and conflicting

Nah, its not doing anything, i just switch off my monitor, come back many hours later, turn back on the monitor and see the same picture but without the server app running. I do not press anything on the keyboard or mouse, so if it was in sleep mode it wouldnt wake up from me just turning on the monitor

Can anyone tell me how to make server create some kind of logs where i can see people joining and leaving the server and stuff happening with server like savegames and ultimately the reason for quitting

There are no rpt files anywhere on my pc. i tink they are created when app crashes, but my server for some reason just shuts down normally, but without command. Is it possible that some cheaters somehow give it a command to shut down?

It would depend on the RCON settings.

Ok, mystery solved, kind of. Turns out the server automatically "restarts" once in a while (except it doesnt actually restart, it just shuts down and thats all). I was playing on my server and suddenly got the message that server will restart in 60 minutes, like on the official servers that i played earlier. And it did shut down itself in 60 minutes, except it didnt start itself up again.

Does anyone know if those restarts are really needed for good server health and performance? And if not, how do i disable them? And if they are needed, how do i make the server to actually restart and not just shut down, and with all the right parameters etc.?

I restart every 12 hours. I use BEC and a batch script to do it, never seen your behavior.

What is BEC and batch script?

Battleye extended controls and script that montors the program and restarts it. This server private just for you? I fear for your users. lol. I guess we no longer need BEC as they are building in the functionality. Good luck!
