Works fine if you cook with fat though for some reason. so there is a reason...

well u should be still able to burn it without fat at least.
i tried cooking meat (incl fat) in a cooking pot and there was no progress showing - dont think the meat even heated up.

I'm new and haven't tried cooking anything yet. Are you saying that cooking pots and frying pans don't work at all?

The cooking pot doesn't work if you put water in it anymore? It should boil the food after a bit.

frying pans do work but need fat to cook meat. idea being that the fat adds grease so the meat doesnt burn. and cooking pots need water to cook anything in them. long sticks need to be sharpened to put food on them.

You also should be able to put fat into the cooking pot and have the fat cook into the meet as well (without water, I don't know what would happen with water though)

Boiled fat eh? I wonder if you could still use it to cook with after that?

There are 3 ways to prepare food in the cooking pot. Boiled (with water), baked (with fat, no water) Dried, (cooked without fat or water.)

I did the fat+meat just 15 min ago on official Namalsk and it worked fine.

I know this. calm your tiddies. It was just an easier way of saying 'the servers that were set up for Namalsk'. Namalsk use the same cooking system and the info is from the wiki. Just for you, I tested it on the official Dayz servers as well and shockingly it was the exact same result.
