The starvation rate is INSANE in this game.
The average person can last 7 days without water, and 30 days without food before dying from starvation/dehydration. You will starve to death in this game within 1 day. It's outrageous.

Oh yeah, and i stand corrected it is 3-4 days without water, not 7.

I bet you'd love the frozen food on Namalsk :steammocking:

Wow. I did not think people would be so triggered by this lol. I wasn't saying you should be able to go 3 weeks in-game time(no one would have a reason to kill each other), i was just saying that one single day is ridiculous. I have personally gone three days without food and i was totally fine, maybe wigging out a little lol. I guess the people that have stayed with DayZ this long have to be apologists though.
If they made it so a full day could go by and you’d not need food in-game they might as well remove food entirely. To keep it relevant, it needs to be quick to deplete. Otherwise food would need to be as rare as M4s you can’t link the hunger rate to time passed since the day length can be changed so rapidly.

If you can open a can with a shovel in the base game I'm sure they could make u able to suck on frozen beans, come on...

On a serious note, while thawing the food state goes from frozen, to freezing, to drenched, I wonder if you butcher an animali the meat will freeze overtime

so what's your preferred method of thawing frozen cans, if I may ask?

and yeah, a lot of drenching going on atm (on Namalsk)...I guess it's the condensate due to the temperature changes :steammocking:

10 seconds in a fire, 5ish for cans of pop/beer if you are lucky to find them, you need meat ASAP to go south!! (Dry your long term meat - Smoke it) and cook stuff to eat now!

Playing on the Hardcore at the moment and wow... freaky noises and great atmosphere!!!

With 3-4 x faster metabolism, bad weather, dried out wells and less meat/lard/bones/veggies/canned food and less hydration in food its still playable, insane!

and I thought there was a more elegant way...(had some cans of Pepsi burnt to ashes) :steammocking:

sounds and music are really great on this map, as spooky as I remebered it.

what I'm really missing are the radioactive eruptions where you had to seek shelter in a building asap before they hit you hard (it began with a rumble in the sky as first warning, then the sky went all yellow and red and when the flashes gegan it was like doomsday - amazing).

I can take a pass on the Bloodsuckers, though...they were bugged anyway.

I couldn't play a lot, so far I just dropped the food on the floor near a fireplace, I would like to see if it's possible to do it putting the cans in a pan or ideally in a cooking pot filled with water.
