Fruit trees question
How long should I wait for fruit drops? And what are chances of mushrooms in forest. And do mushrooms spam randomly near you or I certain places?
And one more, I I understand food has a rotting timer, if I will roast it at last minutes, will timer fully renew?

fruits, mushrooms, stones spawn within just a few seconds around u.
check those trees, loot nearby buildings, check trees again = fruits spawned (back) in.
dont cook this fruits, just eat them instantly.

Mushrooms in forests are quite common although it can be hard to spot some of them as they are brown and tend to merge into the undergrowth especially in the Livonian forests. However mushrooms do seem to have a higher brillliance at night making them easier to spot at night.

They always seem to spawn in pairs so if you find one another will be very near but it may be rotten so of no use. If you dry mushrooms they last a lot longer but to be honest you may as well eat all food as you get it unless you are at max energy which is when you eat and still get a single chevron indicating a loss of energy not gain. Also unless you have a lot of spare inventory space the max energy for 1 inventory slot are the 1 slot Paja so if you want to store food that's a good option to take up less space.

I'd like to add while we're talking about fruit spawns. I have never ONCE, in my 373 hours of vanilla game time, EVER EVER found a fresh fruit in a huge orchard. I've gone through them twice before just to make sure I'm not totally insane. Big buildings and big orchards.... ain't ♥♥♥♥ in any of 'em. I quit checking big buildings a long time ago so if I'm completely wrong on this as new patches have come out, I'm open to reconsider this idea. But orchards? ♥♥♥♥'em.

I've found fruit in them but it is no where near as abundant as you'd imagine it would be. I reckon scouring a fruit orchard is a net sum gain of energy.

Large orchards don’t really spawn by the tree, the whole orchard is like one tree, so searching the whole thing isn’t worth it.

If you’re still at a point where fruit is relevant, the rotting timer shouldn’t matter, just eat it on the spot.

Fruits spawn with nearby players and can start spawning pretty much instantly. If you know where to look, you can fill yourself up just following tree lines in the proper places between towns.

If you're talking about high rise buildings on Chernarus, like those really high highrises, then yeah they dont spawn any loot by design, so no reason to go into them other than looking for bases and stashes.

i did found many times.. usualy 2-3m after you are 100m away from therm. then 10m after dry or rotten

Fruit Spawns work on a rotation. Certain fruit trees will be "active" at any given time. All you need to do is stay in an area for a few minutes. Check the trees after that. If you don't find anything go to another area. Sometimes the area you are looking for fruit in isn't "active"

Also the server population can affect this as well. On full servers. A lot of fruit trees will never spawn anything due to the amount of people already spawning stuff around the map.

Fishing will always be the best source of food.

The game has been updated since 2021 when the post you replied to was written .. Fruit Orchards NOW do spawn fruit more often.

This is completely incorrect.
Fruit, Mushrooms and Small Stones spawn when triggered by Player presence .. If you find any of those items in an area you have not been in for more than about 3 minutes, it means another player has already been there within the last (approximately) 10 minutes.

If you go to an area that can spawn them (fruit, mushrooms, or small stones) and there are none to be found, wait for about 3 minutes, or take a few minutes to loot the buildings in the area and return. You will then find things have spawned.
- It is not "random", nor on any "activity cycle" .. You just need to be there for a few minutes and they will get triggered.

In Vanilla big apple orchards don't spawn fruit at all. I'm talking BIG ones like you see In the outskirts or Berezino. They haven't spawned fruit for a very long time.

This was changed in v1.25 or 1.26 update .. big orchards do have some spawn points now.

They don't. Me and everyone i know can never find one apple in any big orchards for multiple patches, but if we head 50 meters to one single apple tree or plum tree we find them. This is even with players in that proximity for hours. Believe me bro i play this game religiously. If people are finding them, it must be modded, not on Vanilla.

Nope, sorry you are wrong. I play official servers all the time
and you can literally live off fruit in cherno not really needing anything else.
Especially if you eat it. Once you fins an orchard you really have to work
hard to starve.
However.
Livonia as far as i know has never had fruit trees, they have mushrooms.
Sakhal also does not have fruit trees on the official servers either.
