check those trees, loot nearby buildings, check trees again = fruits spawned (back) in.
dont cook this fruits, just eat them instantly.
They always seem to spawn in pairs so if you find one another will be very near but it may be rotten so of no use. If you dry mushrooms they last a lot longer but to be honest you may as well eat all food as you get it unless you are at max energy which is when you eat and still get a single chevron indicating a loss of energy not gain. Also unless you have a lot of spare inventory space the max energy for 1 inventory slot are the 1 slot Paja so if you want to store food that's a good option to take up less space.
I've found fruit in them but it is no where near as abundant as you'd imagine it would be. I reckon scouring a fruit orchard is a net sum gain of energy.
If you’re still at a point where fruit is relevant, the rotting timer shouldn’t matter, just eat it on the spot.
Fruits spawn with nearby players and can start spawning pretty much instantly. If you know where to look, you can fill yourself up just following tree lines in the proper places between towns.
If you're talking about high rise buildings on Chernarus, like those really high highrises, then yeah they dont spawn any loot by design, so no reason to go into them other than looking for bases and stashes.
Also the server population can affect this as well. On full servers. A lot of fruit trees will never spawn anything due to the amount of people already spawning stuff around the map.
Fishing will always be the best source of food.
This is completely incorrect.
Fruit, Mushrooms and Small Stones spawn when triggered by Player presence .. If you find any of those items in an area you have not been in for more than about 3 minutes, it means another player has already been there within the last (approximately) 10 minutes.
If you go to an area that can spawn them (fruit, mushrooms, or small stones) and there are none to be found, wait for about 3 minutes, or take a few minutes to loot the buildings in the area and return. You will then find things have spawned.
- It is not "random", nor on any "activity cycle" .. You just need to be there for a few minutes and they will get triggered.

Nope, sorry you are wrong. I play official servers all the time
and you can literally live off fruit in cherno not really needing anything else.
Especially if you eat it. Once you fins an orchard you really have to work
hard to starve.
However.
Livonia as far as i know has never had fruit trees, they have mushrooms.
Sakhal also does not have fruit trees on the official servers either.
