Found a reason to farm potatoes recently
Potatoes dont go rotten, it seems. At least the unpeeled ones. So if you're farming them at your base and you have like a barrel and you stuff it full of potatoes you never have to worry about food again.

Can you plant the potatoes you find? Like drop the whole potato in a plot? Is that a thing?

as long as they are not peeled, you can put them in the ground.

Yes, thats exactly how they are grown. Just dont peel it if you plan on planting it, once you peel it you cant plant them anymore.

It looks like 3 potatoes from a plant, thats without fertilizer. It sure takes some time to multiply them, but once you do that you start getting way more food than you need.

If I find one… I’m going to end up confusing the hell out of someone at some point. Gonna farm me up a few thousand and make a real mess somewhere… I used to make giant roadside farm plots where I could offer travelers more food than they could carry or eat. You’d walk up to a barrel full of food (before it could spoil) and just next to it would be a dozen or more farm plots full of ready to pick food and me going insane trying to manage it all. Didn’t often get attacked amazingly enough. People seem less hostile when offered a few hundred pounds of free food.
