Fires under roofs?

So yesterday i was trying to light a gas stove on the second floor of a watchtower. It wouldnt light so i tried on the floor under it.... still wouldnt light.

Then when i moved it just away from the watchtower it lit fine. Does that mean we cant light fires under roofs? Or maybe that just applies to the gas stove?

My plan was to create a cooking area under the first floor of the watchtower. Was going to be a barrel for equipment, a crate to store food, and a fire barrel to cook. But now im thinking it wont work because of the roof.

Anyone know if fire barrels work under a watchtower?

Hmm so i guess that applies to fire barrels and gas stoves aswell, il make double sure on the barrel when i find another one though. Shame that space under the watchtower is a perfect lil "kitchen" area :(

It's a safety precaution to prevent carbon monoxide poisoning ;-)

However I've lit mine many times (1.08) in houses that certainly don't have 5 meter ceilings.

Hmmm, I just added fire barrel inside my car tent. it is by the door but still inside.

Yep looks like fire barrels are ok under low roofs. Jus found one and got my lil kitchen sorted out :D

Not sure if it changed in the patch, or if its because i havent actually added the second floor posts yet...

But it let me light a fire under the watchtower last night :D

So I have a BBQ that I can lite anywhere indoors. I Know apples and oranges. But it was a good compromise. I bought a Stine fireplace (its a mod not the one u can make) and nothing. I kinda think it is silly that the stoves (indoors) do not work as they have been a life saver in the past.

Not sure what mod (if any) has the BBQs but if u can get one then ur golden.
