HUGE FPS DROP WHEN HOLDIN CERTAIN GUNS!!!!!

Me and my friend startted playing on a modded server yesterday. At first everything was fine. But now when we have guns and gear my fps drops from 144+ to around 30 everytime i take the gun out and when i put the gun away it goes up to 144+ again. My friend doesn't get this fps drops, only I get them. plzz help i want to play the game without 30 fps :( :/

i have the same issue when i pick up a weapon from the floor or when the gun is in my vest or jacket.
try to put the weapon on your back and equip it with the quick slot. it works for me.

right click Dayz in your library, choose 'properties', then go to 'local files' and click 'verify integrity of game files...'
also tick all the boxes when asked if you want to delete stuff...this will reset all your settings like a fresh install.

Actually i did notice this as well.

I play on 2 FPP, heavily modded servers, both run by the same group of people.

1 of them, I am able to carry 2 guns on my back, 1 in hands, 3 in backpack and 1 on the backpack with no FPS drops. practically every slot is full, and thats an MVS rig with admin, mag and medical pouches, mvs 80 slot backpack with gun holster and admin pouch, and battlebelt with 2 admin pouches and a magazine pouch, tactical jacket and tactical pants. (chernausplusgloom Expansion w/ Winter Cherno)

The other server I do the same thing, but as soon as i pick up that last gun, FPS drops by nearly 30. Swtiched a bunch of guns, thinking it was the specific one i had, still tanked my fps. drop 1 of the guns, didnt matter which one, FPS jumps back up. (livonia, no expansion)

Not sure what is causing this issue, but i think its a combination of character being overloaded with gear, Mass's weapons, Arma2 Weapon Pack, a player carrying the same amount of heavily loaded gear, and the area of the map I was in. Ran out of that town, and my fps came back for a bit, until i sold the guns and it restabilized.

I think the game cant really process 7 guns plus every slot available on your character full. it is dayz after all. So ive just resorted to not being a complete loot goblin, and thats fine by me

I know this is a really old post, but I was also having massive FPS drop (about 30 frames) on a modded server. Especially when my inventory was full. Here I came to find out it was my leather rifle sling causing the issue. I'm guessing it was bugged? As soon as I took the rifle sling off my weapon and it went away. Soon as I put it back on, it came back... On a side note, I happened to have an extra rifle sling at my base, so I decided to to see if I would have the issue with a new sling. I tried it out, and no FPS drop. It was just that one specific sling I was using that was causing the issue. Needless to say I got rid of the bugged sling and issue is gone for now.

I think I have a temporary fix for this. If this is happening to you and have a full inventory when its happening, try making space anywhere in your inventory for the item you are holding as well as the space it's already taking up. Basically the item that is causing the frame drops will need to take up double the space if you want to keep using it without frame drop issues. I had a backpack full of modded guns and almost every one of them caused this issue but when I dropped another gun in my backpack that took up the same amount of space my fps went back to normal

For me it fixes itself somehow. The server I play on has these CBP weapons mod and sometimes when I take out one of those weapons, the fps drops from 80ish for 40. Putting them away makes it go away, so I just use any of the regular DayZ guns while I wait for the CBP weapon to fix itself while I play. No clue what causes it, most of the time my inv is clean and has plenty of spots.
