Just started... watched tutorials and I cant find rocks anywhere

So I've traveled train tracks, trails, and beaches... for the life of me I cant find rocks to make knives.

I've found 5 guns... no knives.

You're searching all the right spots but little stones can sometimes be hard to find i agree.. If you find a pickaxe or a sledgehammer however you can mine boulders or big rocks and craft little stones. Once you mined rocks just drag them over the pickaxe or sledgehammer
(inventory) to make little stones.

hey fellow survivor. i know your pain! ive played dayZ for years and still can die 15 min after i spawn from thirst or hunger LOL. I just wanted to tell you same thing i tell all my friends starting out, DayZ will try to kill you the entire time you play, and it can get very frustrating but once you get past the freshy stage (gear,food, and water) then thats when i think Dayz really starts (for me anyways). Hope your enjoying it maybe I'll see ya out there in the wilderness.

Small stones and mushrooms have a proximity timer, if you hang around an area for a while they start appearing, and soon you'll have plenty. Downside: Hanging around an area on the coast as a freshy with a only a lead pipe and a few rags will soon get you killed. Be creative and stealthy and you'll be OK though.

If you find a pickaxe, you can chop rocks into large stones, then large stones, into small stones.

Exactly. And by the time you search a Kamy size town those trees would have spawn enough fruit to get you to the next town inland.

Holly ♥♥♥♥. First thing you do after spawn is to run to the well to drink some. You do this by locating your position on the map.
You dont know where you are..?
Its ok 99% times you spawn close to towns. Get inside, find signs showing town names etc.
Find water pomp. Its inside almost every town somewhere.
If you know what town your in but cant find water pomp use izurvive map from internet.
It will show you exact location of it.
After drinking some pick up all pans, jackets etc, you will need to make 12 rags of them to then make rope of it or even find rope on the way.
And whats on the way..? After drinking go to forest near by.
Find small walking trails.
Go up for 3 min then down, there small stones will spawn.
You need 2 to craft improvised knife.
Then having a knife go back to town, find a chicken, locate it by sound it makes.
Towns have 3 or 4 chickens inside.
Kill it skin it with a knife.
Now you have meat and bones.
Using knife craft improvised fishing hook. Or better make 2.
Using knife or any other tool to make 12 rags from stuff you picked up earlier..
Now craft rope.
Get close to any big bushes not trees and brake it down with your hands untill you se long stick on the ground.
Now using that stick and rope craft improvised fishing rod.
Using knife aim on the ground around grass area to dig out worms. Dig out 4 or more.
Put them on improvised fishing hook and put that ♥♥♥♥ on fishing rod.
Go back to the coast and start fishing. Make sure you put worm back on fishing hook after catching fish or boots or cooking pot or whatever.
Fish untill you get fish.
Then prepare that fish for cooking with knife.
After that find any big tree, get close to it and holding knife on your hand aim on that tree to cut bark off.
Make some small sticks by breaking down any bushes.
Using 1 stick and bark craft improvised fire starter kit.
Now make more sticks.
Craft fireplace from stick or wood + rag or paper.
Put fish on the long stick and cook that ♥♥♥♥.
By advise.. pick up 4 small stones or more if you can beacouse improvised knife get ♥♥♥♥ed quick so use it only to dig out worms and cut fish..

All this should not take more then 20 mins to do.then go back to water pomp and drink some more.
Move in land to find more loot.
All the time when you running around town making rags etc fruit's will spawn under every apple, pear, plum tree.
Make sure you will check every of it.
After spawn you will not find any fruts cos they start spawning within 10 mins after.
But longer you stay in the town more fruit's will spawn under the trees.

Only check singles apple, pear, plums trees not the area when there are 20 apple trees cos not to many fruits spawn there.
Single fruit trees are everywhere inside any town
