Other than that players can use certain items to remove base objects
why cant i do that yet . an i want to fish, use animial hides to make cloths . an just go off grid for a long time.
!!!
But i am asking because there is an invisible border on the map beyond which your base and any other persistent object is subjected to random wipes. It has been also comfirmed on devs' twitter so i am not pulling this out of my ... hat.
I learned the lesson the hard way and now i am building only within that "border". 2 weeks now, all the cars, barrels, tents, battery chargers, flood lights, generators and cable reels are still there.
I personally suggest joining a community server that uses common scripts that backup the persistence every 30 minutes or so. This will help you avoid losing all of your work. And yes, this is just a band-aid fix for now until the devs sort the issue but if you want build this is the best way for now.
that sounds like a good plan. so well anyway . i guess until a big update theres no fixing the persistance problem .. (if my base hasnt been looted in 5 days besides me then it in a good spot yes ?)
Yeah I mean all the people logging in each day with the gear from the previous one in camps / bases that just appeared by magic are hallucinating, right ??
I bet you found all this in a single session too huh ??

Server crashes can cause a persistence wipe.
